Match entertainment

Whilst it's a great idea to have some form of entertainment either pre or post match to help increase our attendances I think having a group is not the best of ideas.

The clubhouse is too small to have a group blast out music which was so loud it was unbearable for a lot of supporters and I'm sure for the staff who couldn't hear what you were ordering.

Having music is a good idea but something like, as an example, a musician with a guitar would be much more suitable and enjoyable for all.

You always get some grumpy old git who moans and is negative when the club try something new and positive!

Next time can we have Status Quo, Queen with Freddie Mercury, Yes or Cream. If none of them are available I will lower my expectations to Led Zeppelin, Credence Clear Water Revival, or Kajagogo.

Again a prime example of someone being accused of moaning and being negative when it's just some feedback which I'm sure the club will appreciate.

If you read my post properly I've said that it's a 'great idea' and a positive move from the club to have some music to bring the punters in.

But I reiterate it was not just me but most people I bumped into said the music was so loud you couldn't hear yourself think and a lot who normally sit in the clubhouse went outside to get away from the horrendously loud noise.

I'm all for having entertainment/music but maybe something in the middle where everyone can enjoy it without having to bring earplugs 😅

I would have had you down for Kajagogo.

Otherwise Brotherhood of Man, Bucks Fizz, or Steps, or even Cliff Richard.

Seriously what type of music do people want to hear?

A band doing covers, or original stuff.

And what style, pop, rock, blues, jazz, prog rock, punk, techno, grunge, new romantics, r&b, Brit pop, classical?

It's not the fact it's a group it's just that the clubhouse is too small, wrong shape or whatever for music played that loud.

I'm pretty sure the majority of people that frequent the clubhouse want to have a chat with other supporters or their friends about the game etc. over a drink and some food and I'm also pretty sure that most will have found that almost impossible yesterday.

I'm also sure that there are plenty of good musicians that are either solo guitarists or maybe a duo who play all types of music to suit all tastes/age groups that will not blast your eardrums out.

That way you can enjoy the music and also have also have a chat with your fellow colleagues.

I reiterate this is not a go at the club/new owners because I think it's great that they are doing positive things to improve attendances.

BTW don't knock Kajagoogoo they made a couple decent tunes :laugh(2):

Nick Beggs (Kajagoogoo) is a brilliant bass player, renowned around the music scene Just a bit of useless info for you!!

Agree on the volume, however thought the band very good. Had to leave myself to have a chat with friends. Luckily it was warm and sunny outside at the time.
