3Spirit as I said it.s the negative warrier that gets me, against the club manager players results it gets you know where.

On the funny side at Saturdays game I said come on Scott and the guy beside me said be careful I.m his dad we had a good laugh and chat I said to him I have supported the club for 58 years and you will only hear me supporting and encouraging the players wearing the shirt on the pitch whatever the score.

TBH SD, I have no problem with any negativity that is put on this forum as long as it's warranted, constructive and not just nasty and vindictive.

SD, I get what point you are making here. There are certain supporters who only seem to post on here when Slough Town FC are doing badly at something [either with games lost or something to do with club matters] but I think we as a fans forum have to be tolerant of this factor, as people need to be able to express their views, whether that is positively or negatively viewed by others is for the reader to decide.

As much as it can be irritating that a negative commentator seems resentful/bitter/unfair/blinkered/moody,etc ALL fans must have the right to say what they feel as that is the point of an open forum.

I tried explaining this to one of my friends recently, who does post on here from time to time but I'm not sure he understood this aspect of how the forum must function.

A fan is defined as someone who admires or supports a person, sport or sports team.

I personally wouldn’t consider anybody who doesn’t attend matches & does nothing but criticise a team, its manager and its owners as a current fan.

An open forum is where anybody, including those that aren’t fans, can pretty much say anything they want.

And sometimes this includes trolls - those who intentionally try to instigate conflict, hostility & arguments.

With the right of free speech there are also responsibilities.

The responsibility to be civil & accurate in what we say, to not harm others with what we say, and to be accountable for what we say.

Can't disagree with most of what you say Curtis except the accurate bit.

If accuracy was the pre requisite condition of this football forum and all other forums they would probably close down over night.

Nothing wrong with a bit of wild speculation 😅

After a really strong start to get a really good goal through good play shows the character of the players.

Good play all round and take the lead and then go in to halftime with the lead.

Started the second half strongly and was very unlucky to concede a goal against the run of play, no Slough player to blame.

Continued to push forward with some good play, but Ash got through again against the flow of play for Torquay to take the lead.

Slough kept on trying to pull back a goal, but luck was not on their side.

Another strong performance from Slough showing that when their luck changes they will be further up the table pushing for a playoff place.

We go again on Monday against Chippenham.

Very frustrating and unjust result. Typically their keeper has a blinder today! Another day we could have scored 4 or 5. I guess they took their chances and we didn’t. Deserved at least a draw today, just hope this doesn’t deflate the players as we need a result on Monday now.

Spot on Gary It's all about taking chances not wasting them Their goalie played well but that's his job and he did it! The Torquay forum was in meltdown at halftime saying we should have been 3 to 4 up calling for their management team to be gone and this continued until their first goal went in and things quietened down At the end the vast majority said they didn't deserve a win and still wanted major changes!

Despite dominating the first half and despite their keeper making some good saves we still should have scored another one or two such was our superiority.

Again a couple of very good chances missed in the second half and then the inevitable sucker punches happened.

Torquay's first goal came from a bit of sloppy defensive play and their second was from a pin point cross where we had two v one but the accuracy of the cross was just too good.

I'm not sure if our heads dropped a bit or Torquay's fitness started to tell as we seemed to run out of legs in the latter stages.

So the old adage if you don't take your chances it could come back to bite you on the backside was never more evident than today.

Another game where we should have got something and we end up with nothing.

It was a smoke canister,  and well done to the steward who picked it up and removed it straightaway 👏

Game highlights already up on Torquay YouTube channel
