The Torquay forum reckon they had about 300 turn up at St Albans yesterday.

I would like to think we'll get our first 1000+ attendance of the season.

Well if they bring the same amount to us then yes we should be able to muster 700+ you’d hope!

Maybe even more if our keyboard warriors turn up.

What keyboard warriors?

Who are you aiming at with this comment, WR ? Just puzzled to who you are talking about as most of those that post on here[that I know in person] go to Slough matches. Can't vouch for them every game but they do attend.

Also given the current cost of living, I think it is unfair to make assumptions that everyone is flush with money to get to games.

By the way it's not compulsory to go to watch Slough Town FC, is it? People do have a life outside of watching Slough. There's no medal of honour for attending more games than anyone else, is there?

Every club has their die hards, regulars supporters and ones who will pick and choose their games.

I would class myself as a die hard home supporter but tend to pick and choose which away games I go to.

As you say 3spirit most people have a life and challenges outside of football, whether that's challenges with money/health or something as simply as the Mrs wears the trousers 😅

I think I read somewhere that only somewhere between 10-20% of a clubs home support travels to away matches….. so it is generally for the very committed & dedicated fans.

I had a few seasons when I went to most away matches when we were in lower smaller region divisions & away matches were less than a 3 hour round trip, but there seem to be very few of those now (Hampton, Hemel Hempstead, St Albans, Farnborough, Chippenham).

I would probably travel to more away matches if we were in the National League (Maidenhead, Woking, Aldershot, Dorking, Boreham Wood, Oxford, Barnet, Wealdstone).

There is now only two away trip over 3 hours which are Torquay and Truro/Plymouth and only a few over 2 hours.

Hopefully things turn out ok for you Donny.

Maybe you’ve got a MaClaren or a helicopter, but I wouldn’t even be able to do Bath in a 3 hour round trip.

I must say when I said keyboard warriors above I should of carried on by saying SOME of these supporters who can not make the games always seem to come on here with there views and they always come over as NEGATIVE about the club games manager players and results.

They might listen to Rebels Radio as good as it is, cannot always give a fall account like eight minutes of highlights on youtube does not give you the full picture how you see and listen see and watch games can be completely different.

One game on MOTD recently showed a game that all the top stats went to one team but all you saw was the play of the other team.

On the 1st game of our season we had a mixture of expetienced and new signings from the lower level getting used to faster bigger less time to play players a penalty against us that never was and Dan getting caught out at the back not a great game but we did not deserve to lose all who saw the Dover game will say not a great game but we did not deserve to lose Worthing game we had some good spells scored the best good but were beaten by a better team.

At Weston I was told when buying a 50/50 ticket that's all you will win today ha ha.

We outplayed them

Now all supporters who went to 1st two games including me said we desperately need another defender and we were all calling and hoping that it would be Temi so to get him and George back that was the cherry on the cake.

To get Josh back in after missing 1st two games and soon Lenchy back In the squad will be massive.

Now all the new players must be given time to gell with their teammates and as said get used to the speed and experienced tough players in this league.

All credit must be given to the new owners with all the sponsorship deals gained for giving Scott the funds to get Temi and George so quickly the new membership incentives getting different mobile food units in and I am sure their is more to come and not forgetting the superb upto date programme.

All of what I have said Is positive so all the negatively at this present time said by supporters on here are unwarranted at present.

Get behind the club and team.

Appreciate that, seems an old boxing injury from 2016 has caused my right ventricle to stop working, subject to ongoing tests and scans they are going to turn my heart off and restart it to get it back working in the next few weeks.

Well according to my best mate, he's going to make sure they leave it off as our other mate wants one of my collar bones. 😂

Good post and have to say well done on probably the longest post you've ever done SD.

From memory I think most if not all posters said that we didn't deserve to lose to Maidstone and Dover.

Yes the mistakes made by players were pointed out but I don't see that as a problem otherwise whats the point of a football forum to discuss games warts and all.

I don't think any players were lambasted or anything nasty was said about any players.

The Worthing game was as you said, good and bad points but in the end beaten by the better side.

And the Weston game of course nothing but praise on the forum for a terrific performance and result.

Of course you're right, players do need some time to gel and from what we're seeing on the pitch and behind the scenes the club seems to be heading in the right direction.

Very good point you make here,Curtis.

I don't think England's overloaded traffic system makes for great travelling either these days. A journey that may officially be stated as say a 2 hour trip can in reality take longer due to roadworks, traffic jams, accidents, traffic lights/cones etc.

I have followed and supported Slough Town FC for near on 40 years now. I've done loads of home and away matches over those years. I don't get to as many games as I once did. This season I've done 4 pre-season games and was at the Worthing match.I would like to attend the Torquay game but have got another engagement that day that I feel would be wrong of me to miss but I am hopeful of getting to the away Chippenham match.

Does that make me a keyboard warrior and less of a Slough Town FC fan? Does that make me less passionate about the club I've followed all these years?

Just a reminder - this Slough fans forum is for ALL Slough fans opinions on the club and our team, as long as those opinions operate within the rules of the forum. Personal grudges/resentments/catty comments are better left off of it, so please let's try and play nicely on here.

3Spirit as I said it.s the negative warrier that gets me, against the club manager players results it gets you know where.

On the funny side at Saturdays game I said come on Scott and the guy beside me said be careful I.m his dad we had a good laugh and chat I said to him I have supported the club for 58 years and you will only hear me supporting and encouraging the players wearing the shirt on the pitch whatever the score.

You’ll find him walking around the ground as he can’t stand or sit still! 😂

He actually said to me on Saturday evening that he had some really good chats with some Slough fans that he’s not spoken to before.

He will be the first to shout onto the pitch when I’ve made a mistake so don’t worry about hammering me from time to time, I’m used to it from him! 😅
