v Uxbridge

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, Arsenal Fan here

I run an account on Twitter that tracks the Arsenal players that have been sent out on loan, so naturally I want to see if I can watch Hubert Graczyk, so I have a few questions

1. Is this forum the biggest Slough Town forum? If not, what is

2. Is this the best way of communicating with Slough Town fans, or is it Twitter

3. If it is Twitter, what hashtag should I use? #stfc #rebels?

4. Are the matches ever broadcast?

Cheers in advance!

Hello, yes this is the only fans forum. The club does have social media accounts where fans comment too. This season it’s possible to buy passes to watch live for all non 3pm Saturday matches. All matches are recorded though and highlights released usually by the following day via website/social media. Hopefully a few local Arsenal fans will pop down to watch Hubert/us.

I only managed to get there for the second half…. so missed the apparent horror of a panenka penalty attempt but saw all six of the goals, and didn’t see our new goalkeeper have to make a single save.

I’m not sure it’s possible to make any judgements on a performance against a side two levels below us, but looking forward to seeing how we do against Banbury.

Although you can't argue that 6-0 is a great scoreline with some excellent play and goals scored my view is that we shouldn't get too carried away, with the result and performance needing to be taken into context on how the game panned out.

We put in a dominant first half performance with probably 80% possession but managed zero shots on target. A missed penalty meant we went in at half time at 0-0 with nothing to show for our superiority.

After taking the lead in the second half we then made our substitutions on 60 minutes.

Uxbridge also made a lot of changes and also had the mis-fortune to lose their center back through injury.

To my mind this was certainly a turning point in the game as the flood gates opened carving Uxbridge open with some great play.

From what I've seen so far there's no doubt in my mind that we have a lot of talent in the squad.

The difficult part for Scott is turning those talented individuals into a team.

Much bigger task ahead on Tuesday against Banbury which should give us a much clearer idea on where we currently stand as a squad.

How did you rate the 2 trialists Ogbanna and Harry? I’m obviously pleased we won comfortably but certainly not getting carried away and know friendlies don’t mean too much in terms of result. I would hope by now the players are getting used to each other and come the first league game have decent understandings. Was there a decent crowd today?

I only saw 15 minutes of Ogbanna, but other fans said he had a good first half.

Harry looked like a handful running at defenders and looks up & picks out a good pass in the box, and was probably the stand out player today.

Looked like a very decent attendance for a friendly.

We had 3 trialists, David Ogbonna, Harvey Harry and Leon Chambers-Parillon.

All 3 did well.

Ogbonna is certainly a talent and will be a danger to any defence especially when he gets into the penalty area.

Can't fault the other two either.

It'll be interesting to see how they perform against sterner opposition.

Not sure on the crowd possibly around 250/300.
