No ones mentioned the attendance which was just shy of 700.

Not in the Arsenal pre season game bracket but nevertheless it was still a decent crowd considering the weather could have put some off.

It’s about what I was expecting, did Brentford bring many? I guess if the weather was kinder it may have got a little nearer to 1,000.

I’m surprised no post match interview has been uploaded yet?

Apologies Glen, there isn't one unfortunately.

There were a few scattered amongst those in attendance. Would say roughly 20-30 or so.

That’s odd as Scott had done one for every other friendly?

Perhaps Scott hasn't much to say about it.

I just watched the highlights, and while I get that the friendly against Brentford helped swell the coffers, it seemed a rather meaningless friendly in that the Slough team seemed nothing like a real one. I get that there's a need to see what triallists can do but did Scott learn much from that exercise?

Having loads of friendlies is fine but by the time of the Uxbridge friendly I would hope to be seeing some sort of coherence in shape, formation and personnel in how Slough are lining up for the start of the season. Then the manager and coaches can just do the odd tinkering with replacements for those positions.

What I don't get is we've had 5 friendlies so far and have two more friendlies back to back this week [which in all likelihood will be mixtures of first teamers and academy players and triallists split in two camps] and what will we have gained from it? It seems like we have access to a lot of players but how many of them are going to be up to the task?

I thought all these friendlies was going to be about some masterplan to go into the season with but so far I'm confused in what has comeout of them thus far.

What do other fans think?

The only friendly worth watching is the last one before the start of the season proper, as

historically that is the game when most managers will field the team to start on match day one.

Other than that their is no masterplan, just fitness levels and looking at players in

different positions.

Sorry, this is my fault that there was no interview. After the game we had long discussions as a management team about the players that we’ve had in on trial for the evening and ended up being in the room for 45 minutes talking. By the time we had finished, Connor had more than likely had to shoot.

I actually felt as there were some real positives from the game. Come Tuesday and Wednesday we will only have 3 trialists that have been with us for a while now who we will be making decisions on. Saturday against Uxbridge and the 3 games after, you’ll see a settled squad. 👍🏼

I just knew it would be Connor’s fault…

So Scott out of the 3 trialists, are only able to pick one or two?

A manager will always learn and have something to say after every game whether it's a pre season game or a league game.

With 11 pre season games planned the first 5 were always going to be about match fitness and looking at trialists which is exactly whats happened.

The 'master plan' imo was simply to unearth the odd gem or two which I think we've already achieved.

I disagree about 'the only friendly worth watching is the last one' WR but take your point.

Every manager does it different when it comes to pre-season. I don't think there's a hard and fast rule.

My last post was more an observation than anything. Aimed at getting fans opinions on what they've seen so far.
