A tight affair at the Verdant Stadium on Tuesday evening with the hosts prevailing in the end and they will now travel to United Counties League Premier Division South March Town United in the Semi Final of the competition. See all the action and a local press report:

The eagerly awaited United Counties League Premier Division South March Town United v Biggleswade United Semi Final will take place at Robingoodfellows Lane on Tuesday 23 January, a week before the delayed all SSML Quarter Final tie between Eaton Socon and Potton United for the right to travel to United Counties League Division One Blackstones in the other Semi Final.

Division One Eaton Socon found Premier Division Potton United too strong on Tuesday evening so it's Potton United who travel to United Counties League Division One Blackstones Lincoln Road ground on Wednesday 13 March for a Semi Final tie:

Blackstones are a former works team founded in 1891 of Blackstones & Co in Stamford Lincolnshire. In the 1969 they changed their name to Mriees Blackstone after the company merged with Mirrlees National Limited. In 1998 they reverted to their former name when Mirlees Blackstone closed their Stamford works.
This was my second visit here but the first was a long time ago and I didn't remember much about the ground. The first thing you notice is that it is very neat and tidy. Perfectly adeqiate for the level of football they play at which is United Counties League Division 1.
Hot food and drinks were available inside the ground with a very good Fish & Chip shop opposite the entrance. There is also a social Club serving booze in the Club car park.

Just to reliably inform you that March Town United lifted the Hinchingbrooke Cup on Wednesday evening, defeating Blackstones 3-1 in the Final at Yaxley FC, see a match report:
