Pred'n Lg - Playoff semi results - and the final by 12:30, 29th April

Always good to beat Kingstonian, though I got the feeling the club is dying on its feet.   Much as they don’t like us, I do hope they can get back to better times.  I met a very nice Kingstonian fan on a train once.

Anyway, after that rare moment of goodwill to all men, it pains me to point out that Big Bully COYS beat young, wide-eyed Baby Jago at a sold-out Baby Bowl (certainly more people there than at Wembley for Man City-Sheff U).  Actually the Baby doesn’t seem too upset – I think the absurdity of the competition has finally dawned on him.

And it was a very comfortable win for The Geezer down in Furrock, where MikeMike turned up but forgot to errr, turn up, as it were.

So it’s a battle of the heavyweights in the final...

Diamond Geezers (D. Geezer)   v-v   Salad Dodger Hotspur (COYS 1961) ,    Kick off 12:30, Sat 29 April

I've avoided any playoff fixtures to predict on - don't want to jinx anything. Here they are.  Good luck to you both...

Roma v AC Milan
Palace v West Ham (12:30)
Reading v Wigan
Orient v Stockport
Blyth Spartans v Hereford
Attendance:

Contingency:
Elgin City v Dumbarton

Onwards to Wednesday - which I can't make!

Nb. - we will have to work out whether to carry on next season now that this forum is closing.   Maybe Whatsapp?

Rather than start a new thread on this Day of all Days, I thought I'd just give you the result.

Here it is...

Diamond Geezers (D. Geezer)   2-9   Salad Dodger Hotspur (COYS 1961)

So very well done to COYS who correctly spotted Orient were unlikely to turn up on the day, and was surprisingly close on the crowd at Blyth.  Diamond Geezer, errr, wasn't!

But commiserations to his Geezership, and better luck next season.

COYS joins Lord Upminster, Fat Tom and Clive in the Big Time (subject to rule 3.5 of course).   A heavyweight quartet if ever I saw one.

So that's it for the season.   May see you next year if we do it again.

Anyway, must dash, I've got something to do this afternoon.   Now what was it now?
