The original plan had been to go to Buckingham United to tick Lace Hill before they move, but disappointingly this was moved to Buckingham Athletic a few days ago. This fixture then stood out as an obvious candidate, with top facing bottom.
New Bradwell opened the scoring in 7 minutes, but despite controlling the game were unable to add to the scoreline before half time, with the 61 keeper pulling off a couple of great saves. New Bradwell had more luck playing down the slope in the second half, opening the scoring instantly. 3 more goals came at regular intervals through the next half hour, though they could have added more, usually thwarted by offsides. The 61 should have pulled one back on 75 minutes, a ball squared across led to their striker missing from point blank range. In the 83rd minute, New Bradwell made it 6, and added 3 more before the end. The number 9 got 6 of the goals.
Quite a decent setup with a mostly railed off pitch (one corner overlapping the cricket field), and a good stand with bench seating offering good cover on a day of appalling conditions. The crowd was made up largely of groundhoppers, with 11 checked in on the app out of a crowd of 20.
Rather grim conditions on the drive back down the M1, with heavy spray the whole way.
