Weymouth game

Just thought I'd start a thread for this.

Let's hope we can gain three points or at least, one point there.

Weymouth should be going gung ho against us as it’s their last shot at survival. So I think we’re in for a tough afternoon and still probably need a point to be certain. I wouldn’t be resting players and certainly hope the squad don’t have ‘on the beach’ mentality.

Tough place to go under the circumstances.

Lose today and Weymouth are down.

Yes, going to be one hell of a battle if Slough are up for the game [forget complacent !].

Interested to see what the first eleven will be today,if players are rested [though will be subs]. I can't see Scott not playing himself, for what is a crucial match unless he's carrying an injury.

I don’t think one point will help us If Concorde win all their games they have 52 points if they draw one we stay up on goal difference

Yes but it’s very unlikely the bottom team will win their last 6 games? Although they’re obviously giving it a very good go!

If Dulwich lose today then even if Concorde win today both won’t be able to catch us as they play each other on Tuesday.

If Concord win against Dulwich on Tuesday that means Dulwich can't catch us without at least an 8 goal swing in the last game

If Dulwich win on Tuesday Concord can't catch Slough but it looks like Slough will likely have the slenderest of margins to stay up.

Reading the reports from todays game it sounds like Slough had a good first half but couldn't score, and then failed to muster much in the second half.

I'll take a slender margin and be very happy

We should not be in this position of yet again relying on other teams to drop points. Not when survival was (and still is) in our own hands. Not from where we and the teams beneath us were last week. But those are the cards we've been dealt.

As I said last week, never underestimate a team scraping at the bottom and running out of time, (especially now Concord have given themselves momentum and a fighting chance of survival). Admittedly I had Cheshunt in mind when I wrote that, not Concord.

On the plus side, going into the final game still not mathematically safe may lead to an increased attendance.

I for one can't wait for this time next week when, one way or another, I can say "so long and good riddance" to the 2022/23 season!

Not mathematically safe Nathan but if Concord beat Dulwich on Tuesday we would go into the Braintree game with at least a +8 goal difference over Dulwich.

OK not an impossible goal difference to overcome but realistically it isn't going to happen.

You're right Nathan but considering the position and situation we were in when Scott took over it's a minor miracle that we are still in the NLS next season.

Mind you it won't get any easier with clubs like Torquay, Yeovil and Maidstone to contend with next season.

As I said not an impossible goal difference to overcome but if it's +8 and we lose 4-0 and Dulwich win 4-0 we will get what we deserve.

In that scenario where the goal difference is level would it go down to head to head meetings or goals scored?
