We’re staying up, it’s done, thank f**k for that!

We were excellent today and made Farnborough look like the average team that they are.

Now I’m looking forward to seeing Scotty and our new owners in the Summer plot next season in the NLS!

COME ON YOU REBELS!!!

George Alexander & Francis Amartey have made an enormous difference (and both are loaners), and all the talk at the beginning of this season was the need of a couple of good forwards.

It will be the key for next season as well, and we should have at least established the level of quality & presumably the cost associated with finding the right players for these roles.

I’d love to keep Dennis, Amartey and Alexander as all 3 have been sone of our best ever loan deals. But unfortunately I’m not sure any of them will be with us mainly because they’ve done so well for us. Would love to be surprised but am looking forward to a busy summer of player and club activity!

Spencer Day is certainly not happy with his Farnborough team today but unlike him I didn't think Farnborough started bad at all, to me it looked like Slough were defending in large numbers and looking to counter attack on the break. Slough steadied the ship somewhat when they scored first and began to grow in confidence. Slough got the penalty at the right time and then Farnborough lost their captain Ollie Robinson and Jordan Norville Williams to injury, which certainly helped Slough get a foothold in the first half but having said all that, come the interval Slough looked good value for their 2-0 lead.

I was expecting a lot more from Farnborough in the second half but fortunately their fightback didn't materialise and if anything Slough had the better chances to extend their lead.

A great win by our lads today and what a real battling team performance it was, too, which to my mind was thoroughly well deserved given the balance of play.

All the Slough players put in good shifts today and luckily they made few mistakes, and notably when they did other players covered for them. I thought Joe Dandy didn't put a foot wrong and along with the usual top performers ie Togs,Lenchy,Josh,Scotty, made a difference in the heart of our defence without the talents of Temi Eweka.

Having two hard working forwards in George and Francis to relieve the pressure has made a huge impact in how this Slough team functions and is a real bright spot to the lacklustre fare we were watching at the start of the season. I think Ogo Obi has been unlucky to miss out of late but I would hope he stays with Slough for next season especially as it's unlikely that we will be able to secure Francis Amartey and George Alexander for next season.

I did notice at the the end of the game Spencer Day going out of his way to tap up Lenchy

I need to get better at this, happens every week 😅

It’s quite nice that most of the lads tell me when it happens though.

Still piss poor IMO as it shouldn’t be happening but some managers have no decorum.

Lenchy won’t be going anywhere… I’ll bank on that!

I saw this but thought it was just a well

played from Day to Lenchy…

If it was come and play for us etc it is piss poor!!

Why don’t we report him to the league then? How unprofessional aswell you’d think he’d have some brains and do it privately and not publicly on a match day!

Well at least we know our first retained player for next season, I wonder how many more from this seasons squad will make it?

Hopefully Scott has targets already lined up and we can do our business early.

Will Dennis is a promising young keeper at Bournemouth and George is at Bromley and looking to go higher up the pyramid so no chance with those two.

Again with Francis it could all depend on whether Aldershot stay up or not and if not what other clubs make an approach for him.

But Will isn’t ready yet for Bournemouth’s 1st team squad so a full season with us might be beneficial for all parties? I really hope SD is already in contact and doing everything possible to secure Will. George probably has more chance of making the first team at Bromley with them just a level higher, shame as he’d be a great signing and one I’d be confident could score 20+ goals. Francis still has a year on his contract at Aldershot but apparently they don’t want to keep him. So he’ll probably be a free agent soon but no doubt plenty of clubs will be in for him hopefully including us.

Absolute must to keep players of the quality of Lenchy and build the team around them.

I don’t name names but from the current squad NOT including the loanees I would keep maybe 6 or 7 in the squad (not necessarily all starters). Be interesting to see how the squad develops once the season finishes. We can only hope we get to have this meeting with the new board to finally hear their plans which I hope are ambitious and include building a squad to challenge for the play offs next season. Also very important we continue the great work in building up the home crowds.

We've been promised a new owners and supporters questions and answers forum so there's no chance of it not happening.

There's no hiding from the fact that we've come within a couple of points of being relegated so there has to be a proportionate number of changes.

Yes but have these new owners got the finances to make these number of changes. I think on this topic some of us are jumping the gun as we don't really know if Scott Davies and Lee Togwell will be retained as managers, or players come to that.

The A23 owners may be wishing to go an entirely new route with all young players next season with a brand new manager/coach at the helm and very different ideas to what the Slough Town FC model has been for numerous years. The sooner this forum happens the better,as it will be good to get some answers to these sorts of questions before going into the summer break.
