Due to my current address in rural Somerset Ive only seen 8 games this season usually when Im visiting friends relatives in Slough however I live in a TA postcode and can be in Tauntons ground in 15 mins in good traffic so Im really looking forward to this one  If we win that'll  be 50 points and our status confirmed.

OK, I can't get to this one so I'm relying on you to cheer us on to a win

I’m thinking of getting the train down, is it a walkable distance or is there a direct bus near the ground?

Decent crowd and more than I estimated. Hopefully they’ll be back for more on Saturday v Farnborough.

Glen there official website says 25 minute walk train staion to ground.

Glen  Sorry missed your query There are 4 busroutes that stop at Leycroft road which is about a 3 minute walk for a normal person .

What a day, 6-1 and their keeper was their best player! We clearly set up to attack today and win the game.

George Alexander was unplayable and quite clearly MOTM. Jonny Goddard and Lenchy had great games but special mention for Elliott Benyon - he did all of the ugly stuff that enabled us to play the way we did. I know goals tend to define forwards but I think he’s an underrated player, he’s brave, wins headers he shouldn’t, holds the ball up well, defends from the front and is a great character. Really pleased he got the goal his performance deserved.

Win on Monday and I think we’re there which is exactly what Scotty and the lads deserve for their hard work. COYR

Temi has only two games left to play for us, today and home to Farnborough before he goes back to Maidenhead.

Lets hope the Weymouth away game and our final game at home to Braintree are not crucial.

I have it on good authority that Temi has a 2 match ban so that’s his last game this season for us

Just had a look at the league above and below and you could have a few teams around you, Torquay and Yeovil coming down potentially, then potentially Weston and Truro coming up and Taunton staying in the league. Quite a few West country trips!

One of those days made all the sweeter by those horrible losses and last minute equalisers against us. We were on it from the first kick. Their keeper kept them in it could have been 3-0 after 20mins .
In the match we  hit the bar three times and keeper pulled off worldie saves in 2nd half .
we were unplayable !
very early see games like that . Sometimes you dominate but just can’t score , sometimes you get 4 chances and score from each one. Today it was total dominance AND goals . Actually don’t know how they scored it was that one sided.
shame we only got 3points for it . Performance wise it was a 10 from me !

Terrific team performance from Slough today and I don't wish to take anything away from their performance but I couldn't believe Chippenham were so lacklustre and inept. For team unbeaten in 15 games they didn't look up for this game at all, Slough dominated from the very start to the very finish. Slough did the complete job on them. As has already been said, Slough could easily have scored ten. Scott should be elated tonight with his players efforts today,as they hardly put a foot wrong in the entirety of game. Goes without saying how good George Alexander was but without naming the whole Slough team I thought Elliot Benyon, Johnny Goddard and Lee Togwell were immense today.

The bummer is the other results didn't go in Slough's favour with Taunton winning at Bath, Weymouth snatching a draw and Dulwich nicking a 1-0 win over Cheshunt. Looking at the table now, Monday's away game at Taunton looks hugely significant. If Slough can do the business there and get the 3 points from them, which will be no easy task, then Slough can breathe easy for the final 3 games safe in the knowledge that they will be in the National League South next season. A draw might suffice but would be no guarantee. One bonus is Taunton have to play Dartford away on Thursday and are away at Dulwich on Saturday.

This Good Friday turned out to be a rather Good Friday for Slough fans. Let's hope for a Good Monday !

What a performance from the rebels from start to finish.

I sponsored yesterday's game in memory of my dad and you did him proud. Sponsored 2 games since my dad's passing ( a Slough Town. Legend ) a 4-1 victory against Hampton last season and yesterday's 6-1. If I had the money I'd sponsor every game.

15 of my family came along to the game and they all thoroughly enjoyed the day, even a fan of the team from Junction 4 of the M40 said it was an incredible day. Huge thanks to the club for their hospitality and if anyone is thinking of sponsoring a game please do it you won't regret it's a great day.

On to Taunton

" You have to say that's magnificent."

The late John Motson's words to describe Maradona's 2nd goal against England in the 1986 Mexico World Cup Quarter-final, but could equally be used to describe our performance yesterday.

( Whether Maradona would have scored that 2nd goal if the game had still been 0-0, as it would have been if his first goal had rightly been disallowed is a matter for discussion for another time.)

We were outstanding yesterday.

If we had scored 10 Chippenham could not have complained.

I. like everyone else, was anticipating a hard, tightly fought 90 minute battle.

I would have been very happy with a point before the game had kicked off.

Yesterday was one of those day's that don't happen very often.

A so far rare this year day of lovely blue skies with a hint of warmth in the sunshine.

And then a performance to match the conditions.

Yes, it was only one game and only 3 points, but if you can't relish a display like that when it comes around then what is the point of being a football fan ?

We harassed and closed down every Chippenham player all game whenever they got the ball.

That is so difficult to do.

We did it so much in the first half I feared we might run out of steam in the second.

We didn't.

A fantastic effort from all the players, typified as Scott said in his after match interview, by Elliot Benyon in the last minute of the  match running 30 yards back into our half of the pitch to rob an attacking Chippenham player of the ball.

I thought Elliot had a great game, and I was really pleased he scored yesterday.

Johnny Goddard too had a fantastic game I thought, but every Slough player deserves credit.

As if that wasn't enough, in the match programme the article "Slough Annals" was describing the Slough matches at the end of the magical season 1980/81.

My all time favourite Rebels player Micky Kiely was described as scoring his "30th goal of the season",  and then we get on the pitch yesterday a Micky Kiely-esque goal scoring display from George Alexander.

Yes, as I've already said it was only one game and only 3 points,  but it was a great day to be a Slough Town fan.

Superb all round team performance with the goals to match.

Dominated from start to finish making a good Chippenham team look ordinary.

For scoring 4 goals (first since Lloyd Owusu?) George Alexander deserved to get MOTM but it has to be said the performance put in by Elliott Benyon was outstanding.

Most of the other results went in our favor so another 3 points should be sufficient to secure our safety.

The only negative is that unless things change it could be the last time we see Temi Eweka in a Slough shirt.

We do have players to cover in that position but there's no doubting the difference Temi makes to our back line.

Gary Horgans post match interview refreshingly honest   Well beaten by a better side on the day  Slough on top from KO till final whistle Does mention that we had somethimg to play for  There was criticism on their social media that the 1300 KO was unfair to them!!  They had the same notice we did so dont understand that.

So this was a question that was asked on the radio commentary. Suggestion of Ed Smith against Rugby? Last I could see was Danny Burnell in a 6-4 win over Beaconsfield in 2010 ish but didn't have time to look beyond that. Anyone know of others more recent?
