So there’s actually no option to recall because Rhys wasn’t actually eligible for Ascot’s FA Vase run if he signed on loan. So he is currently an Ascot player as I believe we released him.

I was under the impression he was dual registered (he’s still shown as part of the squad on the official website). Plus I thought it was only if you had already played in the FA Vase for another team made you ineligible?

I remember Ascots  beaten opponents in the previous round lodged a complaint that Rhys wasnt eligible due to being a loanee  This was rejected as he was dual registered  This  is what was said at the time Perhaps Scotty can clarify?

I think a lot of us were sceptical about Will replacing Rhys and questioning why? But he’s been superb and probably our best player since signing. I’m really hoping we can arrange a season long deal to keep him next season but fear his performances would have alerted higher level clubs keen to have him.

......but he should be if he's at that level. Yes, a great loan signing by Scott but was it necessary?  Rhys may have done wonders for Slough, one will never know.

The good thing is Will Dennis has shown his pedigree/commitment/skills to our team and in truth we are very fortunate to get him but a part of me feels sorry for Rhys, as he became a bit of the scapegoat for our losses and that didn't strike me fair at the time but that's what managers get paid for; to make the tough decisions. It could easily have backfired and left Scott with 'egg on his face' so to speak but looking at the decision months on, it certainly appears to be the right call.

Our Will was in the NLP team of the week, the other Will is as above.

I knew I'd seen him somewhere but slowly going bonkers...😂
