Today's games/results

Recommended Posts

Three games off so far:

Farnborough, Welling and Cheshunt.

Taunton have had two inspections so far, yesterday at 4.30 and this morning at 8.30 which both failed.

They will hole another inspection between 12.30 and 1.00 advising supporters not to leave for the game until after the inspection has been held.

Ebbsfleet to Taunton will take around 4 hours.

Every game that is called off which involves a team fighting relegation makes it that much harder for them to stay up, as it obviously means they have to play more games in a limited space of time.

If Taunton have any games postponed ( and as RR says their match today has a lunchtime pitch inspection ), it will be getting farcical for them trying to get all their matches fitted in before the end of the season.

The only gap I could see Taunton having any chance of squeezing this Ebbsfleet game into as I would be shocked if it isn't postponed is the 20th April as they have games on the 4th, 7th, 10th, 13th, 15th, 18th, 22nd, 25th and 29th. Good luck to them and their players.

Update: Having just looked at Concord's schedule as they already have an extra game more to play than Taunton, they actually do have a fixture on the 20th so would now definitely assume this Taunton-Ebbsfleet fixture would be placed there.

That’s crazy, the final pitch inspection should be before the away team sets off for the match…. I’m sure we did a pitch inspection about 10 am for the one home match we postponed this season.

I would have thought Ebbsfleet travelled yesterday and stayed overnight. But yes to tell their fans to wait until 1pm to travel is absolutely ludicrous considering it’ll take 3-4 hours to drive!

Chippenham v Farnborough

Taunton v Concord

Personally I’m expecting them both to be home wins, but what results would be best for us?

Chippenham v Farnborough isn’t really relative as neither affect our position. I guess as we’re playing them next, Farnborough can get them running around a bit and wear them down for us. Concord have so many games to play I can’t see them escaping relegation so maybe best they lose.

Best we win Friday
