v Eastbourne Borough

Recommended Posts

Another big game for the rebels against a side that are fighting for a place in the play-offs.

Eastbourne won 5-1 in our home game which was Scott Davies first game in charge when defensive errors were the main reason for the heavy defeat.

If we can come away without losing I think it would be an excellent result.

Eastbourne are inconsistent in recent weeks and have won only twice in their last eight home league games lets hope their indifferent squad turn up tomorrow As for us after the wonder performance against Worthing and good win against Hungerford our confidence and belief should be high. I'll  be disappointed with a defeat.

Disappointing result… really thought we’d get at least a draw today. There’s now only 4 clubs who currently can’t overtake us meaning our heads are just above water… But with 2 tough games coming up we need 3-4 points to avoid worsening our situation. If it wasn’t for Dennis it could have been a thrashing, were they that good or we were that poor? Frustrating that Amartey still isn’t fit to play a part and I guess won’t be for Tuesday either.

Agree very poor but once again other results did us no harm Teams immediately below us Welling Dulwich Taunton and Cheshunt all lost  The two in the relegation zone who won Hungerford and Weymouth both have 1 game in hand but both trail us by 8 points Our status remains very much in our hands imo!

Yes currently it’s in our hands but we if we only pick up 1, 2 or even 3 points from the next 2 then it could be a different story. I’m a lot more concern now especially with just 8 games left. I feel we need to beat Farnborough now to keep our hopes alive.

Don't forget we still have Chippenham, Taunton & Weymouth still to play.

Comfortably beaten by the better side today. Teams aren’t going to just lie down and roll over for us from now until the end of the season as they’re playing games for a reason too. Eastbourne being desperate to get in the play offs…

I was hopeful before today as we have been playing well but we met a team that performed better than us over the 90 minutes and we came unstuck.

Teams below would still love to switch positions with us and I would rather be where we are. If anyone expected us to pull clear of the chasing pack in the space of a few weeks then I’d have been surprised by that.

We are where are after a good return of 10 points from 18 and one defeat won’t define us. We will go again and try and get a positive result come Tuesday at 10pm!

Fair assessment . Eastbourne looked pretty untroubled by us , played the ball around well from the back and we never put them under any real pressure . They pressured us when we had the ball and our play looked rushed and merely hopeful.
But onwards we go .

Not a good result with only Will Dennis keeping the score respectable.

Bit worrying that Eastbourne were playing the ball around at the back, not very well, but were largely untroubled by us putting no pressure on them.

These 3 games were always going to be difficult to get anything from but taking a look at the following 2 games we play the form team of the division in Chippenham and away to Hemel who are in decent form themselves.

Crucial we get some points from these or it could be a very nervy end to the season.

As in most cases probably a bit of both.

You cannot take chances when it comes to a hamstring problem.

If we can get Francis fit for the last 4 games it could make all the difference.

I'm not saying Francis is the answer to everything but he would certainly give a us a new dimension to our attacking options.

3-4 points? well I suppose we can always dream.

Match highlights.

It's only highlights but it did seem as if we were vulnerable in both full back areas in terms of marking especially from crosses and on the break especially if the opposition have some quick players out wide.

It might be a question for Scotty but what role is Josh Jackman being asked to play because he seems to be turning up in different positions all over the park other than his natural position in the right back area of the pitch.
