After careful consideration I decided to head for Northampton, with three grounds to visit in the town still. It was happy days to find this one on, and a 2pm kick off.
The programme is a monthly issue covering all games in March, but was adequate for £1.
Presumably you can use the bar upstairs in the rugby pavillion next door if you require alcoholic drinks, but I didn't bother with this as plans afterwards had beer covered.
A very pleasant venue with good covered accommodation and seating.
This was a close match between two teams near the top of the table but unlikely to catch Bedford or Rugby. Eaton Socon scored first and Chenecks grabbed an important equaliser on the stroke of half time. The away side went ahead again in the second half only to concede two more, they also had a penalty saved. Final score 3-2.
An unexpected slight detour to Abington after the match presented the opportunity to enjoy the delights of the Guerilla beer shop where several quality craft ales were available on tap, including one from Three Hills of Woodford, and many cans and bottles to choose from. After this a brief stop was also made at Maule brewery tap in the town centre.
The Wetherspoons was also on form today with Black Beauty Porter from Vale served in a tankard being particularly good.

A game between 19th and 3rd although you wouldn't have known this on today's performance. Ampthill had the best of the first half but it remained goal-less at the break. Thame though had been reduced to 10 after a red card, apparently for the use of the elbow.
Thame were then the better side for large parts of the second half and took the lead in the 60th minute. They looked likely to hang on, but Ampthill equalised in the 7th minute of added time from a corner. A full report is attached for anyone interested.
