Temi Eweka

Recommended Posts

Make no bones about it the recall of Temi Eweka back to Maidenhead is a massive loss for the club and has come at the wrong time in our battle to avoid the drop.

With Joe Dandy suspended for 3 games this leaves us with two regular center backs in Matt Hall, who is returning from injury and Shane Bush.

Hopefully Scott has something up his sleeve because we are going to need it for the remaining 10 games of the season.

Toggs has played as centre back fir us a lot and only just recently moved back into midfield Scott has also played there A lot of clubs are suffering with injuries and the budget running out Farnborough are apparently down to 13 players

Morning.

Getting a ready mate centre half at this stage of the season is nigh on impossible. There’s absolutely zero chance that I would bring in a loan player for the sake of it unless I know them and can trust them, especially when we have players that I know and can play there quite comfortably.

Also, Joe is back in 3 games time. I don’t want to bring someone in who isn’t going to improve us, or isn’t going to play regularly, which means another player I would have to manage who is more than likely to be unhappy.

Bushy, Hally, Togs, Tyrese and myself can all play there if needed, which might then free up a spot in midfield but we have numbers there also.

But, if the right one pops up then I’ll be sure to do something!

I would take that with a pinch of salt.

No money left in the budget because of the expensive players already on board.

Had to laugh when he say's they're now fishing in the young players pond who are free 😂

Just a shame this had to happen when the back four seemed to be gelling.  Although there are alternatives they are not what I call natural centre halves ( sorry Scott)

I do not know the rules but if Maidenhead were to get their players fit again can you get the same player back on loan or dual register.

I was full of optimism with the back four gelling and the imminent return of Francis and Obi's form.

Precisely my point.

Yes we do have players who can do a job in that position but they are what I call a sticking plaster i.e. not their natural position.

But as Scott has said it's not easy to pick up the right caliber of player not just ability wise but to fit in and give his all for the club as Temi did.

We'll just have to hope that it doesn't affect has to any great degree and we maintain a tight back line.

Agree with you RR.

Cynical me, but it crossed my mind that Maidenhead FC might be happy if Slough got relegated, as some of our fans watch Maidenhead as well ! ha ha !

Given that Maidenhead are probably two victories short of safety and have recently hit some good form,it's a pity we couldn't have kept Temi for another month as he's been excellent for us and one of our standout performers. Oh well, all sent to try us, I suppose. 🙄

I go to watch Maidenhead occasionally, but not in preference to Slough and to be honest the style of football isn't great. Functional might be a good description. They've got an injury crisis at CB so it's completely understandable that they have recalled Temi. I don't think for one minute there's any other motive there.

If you'd seen the game against Boreham Wood you'd be wondering where the quality was from both sides and BW are in a play off spot!! Maybe the Wrexham performance took it out of Maidenhead.

Cheers for the reply,Bernie. It's good to get an insight into what National Premier football is like these days. I was tongue in cheek when I said Maidenhead may like Slough to get relegated. How much do you rate Temi at Maidenhead's level,Bernie?

I haven't seen hardly any NL games but correct me if I'm wrong but from what I have seen most teams are big functional defenders sprinkled with that bit of class in midfield and the striker dept.

Wrexham v Notts County at 3 pm on Easter Monday should be worth watching! It's LIVE on BT Sport.

I'd say that he's more than capable, however, the style of football at Maidenhead is quite long ball. It was pretty awful stuff on Tuesday last, more of the same this Tuesday?

Farnborough had two injured players back playing last night and have just signed two players before the transfer deadline, one on loan from division two Sutton United and one that has just left Crawley Town and relocated to Hampshire.

Injuries and Budget running out my ar** 😅

Ah but do you know what percentage the club are paying (towards their rented car, House and bills)?

I know and I made a comment on Twitter! Very frustrating he’s sun after just 1 start where they desperately needed him back…. bollox! So who’s the defender who took his place last night? Scott get him back!

He’s a Maidenhead player not Slough’s

Yes ‘m aware… they recallled him because they had 3 defenders out so the presumption was he was needed to start for a period of time, well it appears that’s 1 game! He’s obviously not so desperately required as i thought. Just very frustrating when he could be helping us instead of sitting on the bench which he may well be for the remainder of the season. Just hope it doesn’t cost us and then we can sign him permanently in the summer (along with Francis). Be great also to get Will on a season long loan!
