Dandy shouldn’t even get a yellow for the challenge, 50/50 ball and just a collision.

If Benyon has been sent off for something he’s said then fair enough BUT in that case officials can’t pick and choose when to punish foul language like that, it happens all game, some officials laugh it off, some take it to heart, should be one rule for all, swear at an official and you are gone!

Totally agree, why is it so hard to implement this simple rule of a first swear at an official is a yellow and do it again it’s a red, pretty sure this would cut it out almost completely. I just don’t understand why this can’t be brought into rule? As for the Dandy challenge after viewing it a few times it does now appear a 50/50 challenge and yes Dandy went in hard but it’s a yellow and no doubt the away bench uproar upgraded this to a red.

Having looked at the video I find it difficult to believe that the ref was completely sure who, if any one was, the guilty party in the coming together.

Unfortunately the Worthing player went down poleaxed screaming and clutching his leg, that combined with their bench jumping up and rushing onto the pitch baying for blood could well have convinced the ref that Joe was the guilty one.

If there was any doubt in the refs mind the fact that Joe Dandy got straight back up without all the play acting will possibly have made the refs mind up that he was the perpetrator.

I don't think it's in his nature but if Joe had screamed and feigned injury would there have been a different outcome?

It's not a nice thing to do but the majority of players do it and then bounce up like a spring chicken having achieved their aim of a red or yellow card.

By some modern day miracle the severely crippled player was up and running minutes later and even somehow managed to score! Suddenly he’s subbed, not odd at all that!

Ok so time to weigh in on this lot then.

What and outstanding performance from the 9 men (and subs) after teh sending off. The Worthing goal (regardless of who scored it) was a great finish and much like the Bath 2nd goal on Tuesday, I think you have to applaud the goal and move on. The mindset was clear from the sending offs and 100% correct to play from there and to a man, we held firm, did nothing silly and made the best of the chances that came our way.

For me, MoM was Will Dennis closely followed by Ogo Obi, but any of the 9 could have taken it following that performance. I also have to say that since Scott has taken over, 1 of the best players in our squad has been Gabe George. Still learning his craft at LB but as a LWB, he is brilliant and gives us that wide option on the left.

As for the sending offs......

1. Joe Dandy - watching the video in full speed confirmed what I thought yesterday, it was a sending off. My Dad and son thought he had been pushed into the #14 originally (as I think did Scott in the interview) but I can 100% see why the ref has sent him off. No way we get that overturned if Hollis's one wasn't but with Hall back in the squad and fit and Shane Bush looking outstanding so far, the loss of Joe might not be too impactful.

2. Elliot Benyon - we know I'm not his biggest fan at all and before the sending off I thought he was terrible. Mis-controlled the ball numerous times, didn't jump for headers a few times and the way he is falling over now looks like he has been to the Ben Harris coaching course. Also, TWICE, he got done for going in the pen. area on a goal kick, is he sure? HOWEVER - if the sending off was for the push and shove on the little midget from the bench, that is mental. Especially given that their manager broke it up, on video, by pushing the 2 of them apart???? Surely the same thing????? 100% appeal and overturned IMO. I would also question why their entire bench wasn't booked on mass for entering the field of play, especially as, when there is a stoppage in play and the players get a drink, if 1 person gets 1 toe nail on the pitch the lino is there with his eagle eye telling them! 10 people jump up and start rucking and nothing?!?

I thought throughout the whole match we were the better side and with 11 would hvae won comfortably, so a shame on the red cards, but once again the effort we put in was top draw and credit to all involved.

Massive week coming up now and IMO, we need 6 points from the next 2 games to really kick on from here as after that its going to be a really tough 3 games with Eastbourne and Farnborough away and then Ebbsfleet at home before 1 of our easier run ins, but with all the final 6 games having something massive on them, hopefully we can head into the Hemel game at the beginning of April with at least 43 points on the board.

Nobody seems to have mentioned Papa Ji's food truck at the Worthing match.

I had an absolutely delicious chicken burger and other spectators who I spoke to found their Papa Ji's lunch of outstanding quality.

There is also a much greater selection of food in the upstairs bar and downstairs tea bar than in previous seasons and I welcome these improvements.

The quickest of updates…

The referee has actually phoned the club and apologised for Elliot’s sending off. He was told by his assistant referee that Elliot committed a red card offence, and now having watched it on the highlights he’s had the decency to ring up and apologise.

Misguided by his assistant who had a front row seat. Baffling how someone can get it so wrong from a yard away but it is what it is!

Thought I would share that with you all 👍🏼

The closer you are to something the less you see, expecially when less than 4ft. If the linesman had his eye on the ball, the players upper bodies, his direct field of vision at that short distance, and speed, would not have included the clash of feet, it would of been on his periphery, so pretty much a guess from him.

Surely he didn't just say that and the ref asked his lino what the offence was before issuing a red card.

Still, at least the ref had the decency to phone and admit the mistake and hopefully that is sufficient to have it overturned.

Just been over turned. 👍

I haven't used the upstairs bar this season but was told by a spectator that there was a greater food selection.

The downstairs tea bar now has steak and chicken and mushroom pies so there is a choice of pasties, pies, sausage rolls and a variety of rolls. Good enough for me.

Lucky really that we got the point out of the game (felt like a winning draw) in the end. Whilst an apology is great, doesn't change the error and the potential impact on the club if things like that happen. Out of interest, has the lino called the club and apologised as well, especially as it has been overturned now as well?
