It was for two matches played and the only point they gained was against us.

They lose a point but we don't get any extra points in a game that in theory we could have won if this player didn't play?

Perhaps an interesting option would be to be given the choice to keep the point or replay the game?

Just for accuracy surely an ineligible player....  You need to be eligible to play.
