Massive and much needed win. Couldn’t make it today so be very interested to hear how we played, did we create much? Was it all defending? How did Ogo and Tyrese play? Any stand out performances? Well done all!

Nope. Probably even in terms of possession. We created as much as them. 2 well taken goals. Defence stood firm and everybody worked their socks off.

Exactly why I like watching football. Teams do upset the odds, and the favourites don't always win.

Great result for Slough yesterday but means not a lot [except for a confidence boost] going up against Bath City on Tuesday. Too close to call who will be the victors in this game. Least the Slough team will be chipper approaching this encounter.

In the David Noble interview I thought he made some fair points. I didn't expect the St Albans manager to be singing and dancing, after his St Albans side had just been beaten at home by lowly Slough. I thought he cut out the BS and said it exactly as it is. I wouldn't have wanted to go for a jolly up with him to the pub at night, though ! ha ha ha !

Really strange interview with their manager if anyone can share the link?

His post match interviews are always that dull.

He's an ex player that has been given the managers job and unfortunately for the interviewer doesn't communicate well in a post match interview.

I wonder if his team talks are that boring 😏

Despite the fact that St Albans always seem to charge more than other clubs to get into their ground to see a game, I've always enjoyed going there.

It's a typical old fashioned non-league football ground, with loads of character which modern stadium just don't possess. ( In my eyes anyway.)

I guess it's because of these qualities that St Albans F.C. was the base for an episode in the last "Endeavour" TV detective series, when a young Inspector Morse had to deal with a case involving a centre forward with a non-league club who were doing well in the F.A. Cup.

There were loads of shots of the ground itself plus inside views of stuff like the dressing rooms.

Well, I enjoyed it !

Having paid by card my 16.50 to get in, I was gleefully told soon after by other Rebel fans that more or less straight after I'd gotten into the ground ,the turnstile credit card machine had packed up and they had all gotten into the ground for free !

I do wonder how many fan's got in without having to pay ?

Serves St Alban's right for being a 'cash free arena'.

A tense game was coming towards the final whistle, when I became aware of a bloke standing next to me.

I was standing behind the goal, and as I didn't recognise him as someone who attended Slough away games I assumed he was a home fan.

"How long to go ? " he asked.

"Five minutes" , I replied.

" You come from Slough ? " was his next question.

I was wanting to pay my full attention to what was happening on the pitch, but said politely,  " Well, I live now near Maidenhead, but grew up in Slough, in Wexham, just across the road from Wexham Park."

' Wexham Park ?   I used to play there ",  he came back to me with.

Now intrigued, I asked him, "What's your name?".

" Rowan Dodds"  he replied.

Straight away that name took me back 40+ years.

It was great to see him.

Seems he now lives in Milton Keynes, and occasionally goes to watch an M.K. Dons match.

Right at the final whistle, he dashed away.

It was a bit of a coincidence seeing a well known Slough player from the past, as only a few hours previous, just half an hour before kick off to be precise, I had said to another Rebels fan that the 50 year anniversary of Slough's

only trip to Wembley was coming up in a few weeks time.

I know we had the Wembley shirt produced recently, but I was wondering if the club had any plans to formally acknowledge such a significant landmark.

Half a century.

That's a long time.

I was there even though I don't recall very much about it.

Makes me feel very old !

Anyway, fantastic result yesterday.

Everyone worked their socks off and deserved to get the 3 points.

I see Lenchy hadn't learnt his lesson.

Was it Worthing away when he scored and got booked for taking a sneaky drink from a happy Rebels fans glass during his celebration ?

He did it again yesterday, this time without receiving a yellow card.

It is amusing to see though.

Let's hope for another 3 points on Tuesday.

How do they do it? They charge the most (£16.50) I think in the league but get very good crowds like yesterday. It’s not like they’re top so what are they doing that we can copy to get our crowds up?

Browsing my phone on the coach the video of Lenchy running behind the goal celebrating and taking a glug of Deano's beer came up.

The elation of scoring and celebrating important goals are certainly not lost on Lenchy.

Great to see such celebrations and glad that unlike the sour puss Worthing ref he didn't get booked.

PS these videos seem to have disappeared from my phone if any one can get them back up?

Wasn't it a couple of seasons ago that their supporters boycotted games due to high entry prices?

£16.50 and £11 for concessions is a bit steep but seems they are willing to pay those sort of prices.

Being near the play-offs probably helps.
