Another difficult away game where we will need to be at our best if we are to come away with anything.

I feel we need to be looking to get 4 points (3 minimum) from our next 2 if we’re to avoid getting truly sucked into the relegation battle. Currently it’s still in our hands but that could drastically change if we don’t get the required results. After such a great unbeaten run it’ll be a travesty for all that hard work to go to waste if we continue our winless run. Still hoping we’re looking to sign a striker as it’s obvious to all we need to replace Amartey and it’s going to really harm our chances of survival if we don’t bring in a suitable replacement, maybe Scott can update us?

Got to agree on the striker front unfortunately......Amartey is the class act and difficult to replace.

I actually think Imran is best placed to score goals but obviously he is at Kingstonian. I wonder if there is a possibility he will be recalled now that Amartey si out

Don't agree. Slough can score goals without Francis Amartey. We have players across the team that can score goals, and create them. Ogo Obi needs to play the role Francis was doing.

In my opinion Imran is best left at Kingstonian for awhile[Feb and March] and gauge how he gets on. We need to see what Moe Shubber, Tyrese Owen, Louis Walsh and Matt Burgess bring to the our side. It's pointless getting players in, if we don't see what they can do.

For St Albans a win would likely put them in a play-off spot with a game in hand, so I would expect it to be very difficult to get anything from this one.

Tuesday & the Bath home match looks like a reasonable chance of 3 points though.

Yes, Bath City at home looks a better bet for the win but you never know in football.

You mean you’d play Ogo coming in off the left of the front 3? That’s what Francis has been doing and it would not suit Ogo at all.

Francis is a good player but we’re all talking like he is the Messiah, he’s scored 2 goals in 7 games, that’s hardly prolific

Like who?

Our midfielders chip in with the odd goal or so along with Josh Jackman but if we're relying on them to score our goals to get us out of trouble we're in deep s***.

It's been mentioned before, look at all our strikers and their scoring records, Amartey apart, and there is not one with a regular scoring track record.

Unfortunately we went big on Francis to get him across the line. Right now, we can’t bring in another proven striker so will have to make do with what we have. I’m hoping he will be back for the week of the Concord and Hungerford games. Whether that be the Tuesday or the Saturday we aren’t sure yet, but we can only hope.

It’s Sod’s law that we let imran go out on loan to get games and then Francis gets injured, but you can’t recall within the first 28 days of a loan.

We brought Tyrese in who has 10 goals this season in the hope that he will chip in, along with the other players who should be getting better numbers too.

As for Ogo, he’s had plenty of game time, and has had some great chances to have scored more but hasn’t. He openly admits he needs to be more deadly in front of goal. We believe in him and more importantly he believes in himself, I’m sure his goal ratio will improve! Hopefully that starts tomorrow 🤞🏼

Also, we scored 13 goals in 5 games a few weeks back and Francis scored one of those 13. So we do have people that can score goals from elsewhere. It’s just taking the opportunities.

I think people are being too harsh on Ogo. He scored loads of goals for Hanwell last season and is a more than capible striker, young, quick and knows where the goal is. Our whole team just needs to start taking the chances we are creating, Ogo included. I'm sure he'll come good soon enough and we'll have an excellent striker on our hands (as a Slough player as opposed to a loan).

With regards to Francis, dont forget his goals have all been scored in the leagues below like Ogo's, and the bottom line is, he is injured so for the next few weeks he could be Ronaldo and Messi together and it wouldn't matter. My hope is too see them both playing together as a front 2, if they get an understanding, I think we could see plenty of goals before the end of the season from both of them.

Interesting you say ‘right now, we can’t…’ does this mean you can’t financially or is it to do with availability? Or might the situation change in the next week if you find a striker within budget?

Player availability at this stage of the season is really difficult. Players that are doing well (possibly in the league below) tend to be fighting for promotion, whether that be automatic or play offs, so don’t often want to jump ship to then fight for survival in the league above.

The so called better players are usually on contracts too so can’t get them out! Our league position certainly doesn’t help when we are trying to bring players in. But, no time to sulk!

Can imagine it’s highly frustrating… but we still have a squad good enough to get us out of this, starting with that memorable win tomorrow!

No, I don't mean on the left of a front three. I've not seen every game but have we played a proper front three this season? The games I've seen it's more two upfront and an attacker drifting out wide.

I was comparing the speed and athleticism of Francis to Ogo. To me it's simple - Slough aren't scoring enough goals and now Francis is injured. Why doesn't our manager just ask Ogo what his preferred position is and then build our attack around him. If he is going to stay at Slough he needs to start scoring and Slough need for him to start scoring.I would have thought he would be a great asset if we can get him firing,so in my mind you pull out the stops to do that. Not hamper him by asking him to play in an unfavourable position. Yes we need players with adaptability but right now we need forwards that score goals. To me this is also looking ahead to next season, whatever division we are in.
