Yes eleven games but let's look into them.

Ogo made a terrific debut in his first game alongside Elliot Benyon in the 1-3 loss against Havant. In his second game Alfonso Tenconi came back in,as did Imran Kayani. 3rd game Kayani starts against Oxford City with him in the New Year fixture.  In his 4th game the Tonbridge 3-3 it was Francis Amartey's first game back. Ogo was subbed second half for Louis Walsh-[his debut appearance]. In his fifth game Ogo scored his first and only goal so far for Slough in the 4-3 win over Dulwich. In his 6th game Ogo was paired with Francis upfront against Cheshunt. He was subbed second half. At the time I thought it was an absurd decision as Francis and Ogo were doing well together but the score was only 1-1. To me I thought Yella took the wrong player off. A sub needed but not for Ogo.

In his 7th game Ogo got subbed again for Elliot Benyon in the 1-1 against Dover. In his 8th game he was a substitute the 0-1 away win at Hampton.

By this time Francis Amartey had stolen Ogo's thunder and nailed down the number one striker role because he was scoring goals, and Ogo wasn't but that doesn't mean Ogo wasn't contributing.

Now do we blame Ogo for not scoring against Chelmsford away in a 0-2 loss[his 9th game] Francis Amartey never scored either ! His 10th appearance for Slough was as a substitute in the 0-3 loss to Welling and last time out against Dartford he was a substitute again.

Where's the faith in this player? In the games I've seen this season, I consider him to be one of our better signings, and played right could be a real goal threat. To me our treatment of him hasn't improved his confidence.

He may not score as many as Francis but he should be given a better chance of proving his mettle than what he has been given so far imo.

3spirit, with due respect our manager and his assistants were present at all the above games and used their judgement to make these decisions like when and who to substitute according to either a players contribution to the game or purely for tactical reasons.

And to be honest in the games that I attended and if I was in their shoes I'd have made the same decisions.

Regardless of the times Ogo has played with a different strike partner or been subbed IMO he's had the opportunity to stake a claim to start every game and play the 90 minutes+ and so far hasn't quite managed it.

That's not to say he won't in the future because he's certainly got the ability and as said before perhaps he just needs a bit more time to adjust in order to come good.

Look I'm not saying he should be untouchable and not be subbed. I just feel that we haven't used him as wisely as we could.

My point, though, was your quote that we needed to bring another striker in, now Francis Amartey is out injured. I'm of the opinion that Ogo Obi is a player that could come good and start to bang in the goals. He needs boosting up not knocking down. His first 6 games for Slough he was a livewire and our results improved. His last 5 appearances have been limited because Scott has favoured Francis [understandable given his important goals] and Elliot Benyon[ another that doesn't score enough].  Ogo has been the fall guy because of Francis's successful loan period so far. Their games are very similar.

To me Ogo needs clever coaching to bring the best out of him. He's still at a good age to offer Slough a longer term future.
