  • GlenSTFC changed the title to Slough Town 3 Watford U21’s 1

Rhys, Matt, Josh, Gabe, Joe, Eitel, Dobbo, Imran, Ogo, Francis and Walshy.

3-1 at half time. Walshy, own goal and Ogo.

Rhys, Josh, Connor, Joe, Gabe, Eitel, Sam Shaw, Eitel, Dobbo, Walshy, Imran and Ed Port (been on a scholarship in America but been training with us for a good month now)

3 of the U18’s came on for the last 15 minutes and more than held their own. A really useful night and a good workout!

Interesting seeing Eitel getting a run out.

Is he back with us?

That Eitel must be exhausted having appeared 3 times! Would be our ex player Eitel Goueth? Good to hear it was a worthwhile exercise and no injuries!

I think he signed for another club, possibly Beaconsfield and then another club.

Left us because he didn't think he'd be getting a regular game.

He’s currently dual registered with Uxbridge and ourselves. He’s playing regularly for them and getting valuable minutes. He would be an option for if and when we needed him but right now getting games is what is most important in his development and definitely fitness.

There’s a player in there somewhere so we will just see how things go.

That is fantastic news, our under 18’s are top of their division.

Is the structure under the new ownership likely to provide a pathway for players in our youth set up to possibly develop through to the first team?

I'd be shocked if it didn't.

Our under 23's are this season playing under the Beaconsfield banner.

I'd also expect them to revert to Slough under 23's for next season.

There are some good players in both U18 sides with some cross over.

The Sunday side are top, the midweek Allied's are 4th but doing well in a decent standard of Youth Football, Alfie is a good player and Jayden I rate highly having seen them both loads over the years at various ages and sides.

With hopefully the A23 U19s and U23s coming back onboard it should be a pathway forward.

It’s a big jump from under 18 youth football to under 23’s, & there is nothing in between to create the pathway at present.

A23 did have an U19 side before so hopefully they still have but I'm not sure.

I thought he went to Beaconsfield along with A23 in the Summer?!?!

Interesting to see on our Twitter that we are looking for current under 18’s for 1 year scholarships, & current under 16/17’s for two year scholarships, specifically referencing a potential pathway to the 1st Team.

Yes saw that and of course this is what we mostly expected. But I’m disappointed they haven’t kept us informed as to why this prolonged delay in approving the takeover. Or maybe it has been but they’ve not told us because they’re busy setting up these new youth squads? it literally takes a minute just to say yes we’re still waiting (and maybe the reason why?).

The details at Companies House state that A23 are the new owners.

Presumably that means it's now official.
