Disappointed is putting it mildly.

On one hand yes it’s a massive blow and disappointing to lose someone of his quality as I doubt we’d be able to replace him certainly not like for like. But he’s served us well and by all accounts has been very loyal. Plus this could be his last chance to make it in full time football and I’m sure Dorking have our mind boggling wages on the table. I wish him all the best and if it doesn’t work out please can we have first dibs!

Works well for both clubs.

Aaron is almost certainly out for the rest of the season and is then out of contract so was free to go.

By cancelling his contract now we have the funds available to bring in some new signings.

Win win situation.

Rather Dorking paid his wages whilst out injured...

Its his birthday today so  a timely announcement Interesting that Marc mentions his injury but says it may be 4 weeks before Dorking supporters get to see him! Always was looking to play at a higher level imo we were lucky to keep him as long as we did.

Now makes Dobson's return understandable.

However it still looks like money is short, and questions why the new owners did not step in to retain him.

Maybe it does not fit their plans to have his calibre of player at the club.

That and all these stopgap loan player's questions what the long-term plans are, as come May there will be few Slough player's left at the club once the loan player's return to their main clubs.

Time to sit and twiddle our fingers whilst the "Grand Plan" is drawn up, and the gold bars are transferred to Arbour Park to ensure the financially secure future.

All the best to Aaron. Quality player who deserves to be playing higher. Never let the Rebels down. Another great Bakes and Unders signing.

To be honest Slough have coped without him of late but it does seem strange that we have let George Hunt go out on loan when we probably knew a deal like this was on the horizon.

Dobbo is only back on a sort of trial to see if he can recapture his form of a few seasons ago.

Aaron Kuhl wanted to play at a higher level and the opportunity to do that was obviously too good to turn down.

I don't think any amount of money from our new owners would have stopped him leaving.

As far as I'm aware George Hunt wanted to play and at present the only way that could happen was for him to go out on loan.

I think this is a master stroke by the club. He was clearly in 2 minds for re-signing this season, the opportunity if fit for him to play higher is clearly there so come April he would have been off anyway, thus, we don't pay his wages whislt he is injured so we can get replacement/s in and he gets his chance at a higher level.

Brilliant move IMO.

So you wanted a fee for a player thats injured, out for a while and a free agent in 3 months time?

Not sure you have quite the right understanding of these football transfers SirRebel, what fee did you want? Or would you rather we paid him whilst he wasn't available for 3 months, did without a player and then he walked away anyway?

I think with the current formation and 3 main midfielders George had to have a loan away to play as with Davies, Lench, Goddard and Togwell available and he was always struggling to get in the starting 11 (FWIW he would 100% be in my starting 11, but thats by the by).

If Marc White say's it's 4 weeks it must be true 😅

Well you could argue that he is worth a place on the subs bench if he wasn't in the first eleven but I can understand that he wants full game time after the injuries he has had and Scott may want to explore other types of central midfield players. My point of view is that I would have kept him around, as he has been at the club awhile now and has improved his overall game since he first arrived at the club. To be honest when I first watched him I thought he was lightweight and rather ineffective but he has come on bundles and does a lot of hard yards that often goes unseen in centre mid.He just needs to add some flair to his game. Anyway better get off the George Hunt subject as this thread is about Aaron Kuhl !

Thanks RR, got ill over Xmas and NY (didn't everyone) and with game cancelations and other things going on, no time to be chatting to you lovely people LOL. Still been reading everything though ;)

Welcome back SloughFlyer. Missed you. Just one thing to add did you see that useless striker Elliot Buchanan scored a hat trick on Saturday against third in the table Chesham United, mind you I better not crow too much as Ben Harris scored two for Bracknell but they were at home to fifth from bottom Winchester City !

And by tying him down now, Dorking avoid a 'bidding war' in the summer. It's a fact that Aaron could have left for one of several clubs last summer, but chose to stay and then chose to commit for the rest of the season before his injury. I think everyone benefits from this move.

No that is not what I said, please do not try and twist my words.

I stated "contract withdraw and gone on a free" - where in that comment does it say there should have been a fee?

And nowhere else in this thread do I talk about a transfer fee.

SloughFlyer, please read the comments more carefully and don't try playing politics.

I await your apology.
