V Chelmsford 23 Jan A

I expect that to most people Chelmsford would  be expected to prevail based on their earlier performances but they are having their own stutter at present Their last 7 league games have resulted in 4 losses 1 draw and just 2 wins  against Braintree and  Weymouth I think we have as much chance of getting the points as they have.

We should be full of confidence after today and extending our unbeaten run to 4 league games. But yes it’s still a tough match being away to a play off contender and a horrid trip around the M25 in rush hour. I think we’d all take a point now but I hope that’s not the mindset of the players and management and as Scott said we shouldn’t be afraid of any opposition in this division. If we can tighten up defensively we now have the attacking players to punish teams.

Their loss of form in recent weeks has been accredited by their supporters to being involved in cup games.

Really tough place to go in midweek but we are in confident mood so who knows we might just upset the odds and come away with a result.

Chelmsford are hot favorites at 5/8 with the draw 3-1 and 4-1 the away win.

To be honest I’d be surprised if it’s on given the frozen weather still and the forecast, mate of mine said it was -5  there last night, freezing today and due to be -4 there again tonight.

it’s not the best pitch in the world assuming they are still on the grass with the athletics track around it, was there the other year.

Well maybe it was a mistake to play their supporters in cup matches? 😆

TBH again I think it would do us a favor if the game was called off.

We are well ahead on games played and it would give us plenty of time to prepare time for the big one next Saturday.

I agree in thinking a postponement tomorrow night would suit us. We’ve just had a tough game and to then play again just 50 hours later in the cold and after a horrid journey means we wouldn’t be at our peak in fairness. Plus it’ll give us 2 training sessions to work on the bigger match this Saturday. Yes we’d still need to make that journey but ideally it’ll be once we have a fully fit available squad (and then 15 games unbeaten!!!).
