There was an interesting stat on the commentary today - Only one player has started every league match since Scott Davies became the manager.

Who is it?

Scott Davies

For christ sake… I knew this was coming! Look stupid now don’t I… 😂

There would have been more than just me but Togs went on holiday, Josh was away for Christmas, Jonny got injured, Lenchy was suspended. I just don’t allow myself to be unavailable 😅 I’ve missed two games in 8 years through injury so I blame my mindset in just getting on with aches and pains!

Don’t think anyone cares Scotty 😂

As long as we continue to pick up points you’ll be ok 😂😉

I think it was helped by the good work Ade has been putting in with local schools as well today.

Long may it continue 👍

I believe our agreement with SBC that got us our low rent obligates us to give a certain number of free tickets to local schools at every home game as part of the social claw back negoiated

A massive win for the Rebels, a fortunate penalty which we actually scored and a really fun game of football that was never really in doubt! Fair play to Dulwich who rarely travel in numbers from what I've seen but probably brought the most away fans to Arbour Park this year and made some decent noise for a change. As well as we played today, they wouldn't stay down and gave us a very nervous last ten minutes.

What a fantastic job Scotty Davies and Lee Togwell have done to steady the ship over a difficult and uncertain period for the club over the last few months. Both Slough Town legends who will hopefully be involved in the club for year to come. I think Scott can go on to be a good manager at this level and maybe even beyond if he wants to, I really like what I've seen so far and that we are trying to play a bit more and have a more structured, consistent formation and shape. Scott is such a nice bloke that everyone loves but has shown a bit of ruthlessness this week in pursuit of team goals which I also like. I'd like to see what he can do with a full preseason and maybe a few extra quid in the budget but the whole squad we have now have shown a bit of character recently and given us a bit of hope in the last few games.

Really impressive performances from Lench and Goddard this afternoon. Both looked confident and played some of their best football for the club this season. Matty Lench has found another level since Oxford away and has been brilliant in the middle of the park, scoring a great goal today, possibly an assist too but Dulwich couldn't get near him. Such a great player to watch when he's at it like today and deservedly got the man of the match award and again looked very at home in centre mid. Some of the football we have played last 3-4 games have been really enjoyable to watch, we maybe just now need to tighten up a bit at the other end. Amartey and Obi are a really exciting, fresh pairing up front with some pace and aggression who have changed the dynamic of team and could be a handful for any defence in this league. Would love us to bring Amartey back permanently next season. He has always looked a threat for us, that's 2 in 2 now for him I think. I feel he could be a 20+ goalscorer for us if given a chance. Brilliant that Obi is off the mark too as I think he's looked good since signing but strikers need goals and hopefully that's the first of many for us now.  Very pleased with those two signings.

Today felt like a new start for the club. New owners, new managers, the biggest home crowd of the season, good away support and a rare home win and a very entertaining game which we just about won in the end to get  a massive 3 points. I felt we were dead certs for relegation a month ago but it looks like we have managed to put together a decent squad at short notice who are up for the fight and I'm getting more confident we can stay up if we can keep up the level of intensity and performance from the last couple of games.  That and concede less goals. Today felt likes a pre-pandemic game at Arbour Park with a good crowd and players and fans all 100% and up for it. Let's hope we can keep that momentum going for the rest of the season and into the next one wherever that may be. I brought a couple of Slough ex-pats to the game today and they loved it. More of that in 2023.

Finally, really depressing to read about possible racist abuse towards a Dulwich player from a Slough fan this morning. As fans I hoped we were better than that.

Excellent post SM.

Looking at the highlights it looked a stonewall penalty with the Dulwich player on the ground making a move with his arm towards the ball.

No mention of their 'penalty' being outside the area?

It was good to see a side bring a decent following possibly 100+ but in context to locality and the fact that they get 3,000 attendances maybe they should have brought a lot more.

On Matt Lench, personally and in general I think a lot of supporters have been saying for a long time that Matt Lench should play in the middle of the park and not out wide.

With his ability he needs to be in the thick of the action and not stuck out on the wing.

Again we are now playing with two up front who both have pace which is refreshing to see as in the past we tended to favour having one up front. Possibly makes us more vulnerable to the break away but certainly more entertaining to bring the punters back.

Francis Amartey would be a great signing but that obviously will depend on his ambitions and what league we are in next season.

On Ogo Obi, agree that he's done well for us since signing, I'd just add that he needs to add more goals to his game with the chances he gets and he'll be another great find.

Conceding goals still seems to be a problem for us.

Really not sure if it's our new attacking style, players needing time to get used to playing together or another defender required to shore up the back line.

As far as escaping relegation goes, with our upturn in form we've given ourselves every chance but the next 3/4 games could be defining with Cheshunt, Dover and Hampton coming up and all massive 6 pointers in our battle to avoid the drop.
