Massive 3 points up for grabs against a side in and around us in the league.

I’d say it’s a must win game bearing in mind we’re away to play off Chelmsford on Monday and then a massive crunch match away against relegation rivals Cheshunt the following Saturday. Dulwich are fairly safe from relegation worries and a way off the play offs, so not saying it’ll be easy but they don’t have much to play for currently so of the 3 games it’s the one we have a better chance of winning and need to considering we’ve played a few more games than the 4 or 5 teams below us.

I wasn’t able to get to the match, but listened to the commentary.

The two guys doing the commentary were excellent, their commentary was very knowledgable & informative & they seemed to really encapsulate the excitement of the match.

An absolutely fantastic result, but it did sound like the defensive side of things is still going to need a few matches to tighten things up.

Almost as important as these 3 points is that Concord Weymouth and Hungerford all lost improving our survival chances!

We're great on the break dodgy at the back

Rode our luck a bit in the first half but managed to go in at the break 2-0 up courtesy of a headed goal from Obi and another cracking goal from Lenchy.

Conceding early in the second half didn't help our cause but credit to the team for storming back to lead 4-1 from a Goddard penalty and an own goal after some excellent play from Francis Amartey.

We then proceeded to give away two sloppy goals which really put the nerves on edge.

Overall going forward we looked good but still gave away some poorly defended goals.

On the day there were some good performances but another masterly display from Matt Lench thoroughly deserving his MOTM award.

Great 3 points against a good Dulwich side and other results going our way.

COYR!!!!!!!

Great win. I think it’s safe to say we aren’t boring to watch!

Defensively I thought we looked solid in the first half and I’m sure they’ll be gutted to have conceded 3. We should remember though that most of the defence and goalkeeper have barely had a training session together let alone games. In the case of Shane Bush, he may not have even had that!

A month ago we were relying on teenage loanees and youngsters, today we had the likes of Benyon and George Hunt coming off the bench. Add in Lee Togwell and Aaron Kuhl (hopefully) and the squad looks in good shape.

Matty Lench MOTM for me too by a distance

Wow what a game but those last 10 mins certainly made me thankful I was wearing my extra thick pants! Firstly the win was all that’s important, 1-0 or 10-9 doesn’t matter in our position, this was a massive 3 points towards our safety especially with the 3 teams below us who played all losing. Couldn’t quite believe we were 4-1 up but it was deserved and could have been more but so relieved we held out in the end, would have been a disaster had we not won. Also an excellent crowd no doubt helped by a lot of local postponements plus Dulwich bringing more than most clubs (although that’s not hard!). Hopefully a few of those neutrals liked what they saw today and will come again.
