Talent ID match

In a change of plans this Saturday we will be playing a 'Talent ID' match against a squad of players invited by 'Premier Footballers' who are out of contract or returning from injury.

Could Scott or someone add a bit more detail to the players invited by 'premier footballers' bit.

Evening…

The opposition are a showcase team, which means that there will be players who are out of contract from professional clubs who are attempting to work their way back into the game. They play these matches, and send them to pro clubs, invite scouts etc to watch to show that the player is fit and ready to go again.

Im unsure of who will play but I know they have players like Andre Wisdom, Leon Clarke on their books. They said they will bring down a stronger than normal squad as their opponents are usually of a lower level. Will soon see!

We just wanted a match to work on things which is the important part. We have a centre half who has agreed to join us on loan too for 3 months, just need to finalise a couple of things so he should hopefully be available to play too!

Scott, would you also be using this match to take another look at any opposition players that shine?

Going to leave us with just the original long-standing Hall and Woodhouse collaboration then.

Decent run out.

1-0 down early on but came back to lead 3-1 at half time with 2 goals from Francis Amartey and Ogo Obi.

Second half a completely different 11.

The players I recognized in the second half were Matt Hall, Gabe George, Imran Kayani, Louis Walsh and Leon Chambers-Parillon.

They all did well with Chambers-Parillon looking the stand-out class player.

With Aaron Kuhl looking like missing most of the remainder of the season Chambers-Parillon would be an ideal replacement if available and affordable.

End result was a comfortable 6-1 win.

Appreciate the report guessing there weren’t many of you in attendance? Is Leon currently playing for anyone? Shame there wasn’t a team sheet especially as the opponents may have had some notable names? How did Temi play?

Was the number 18 Leon CP? I agree he looked good second half and if it is Leon, look to have filled out a bit since I saw him last.

Spoke to Aaron Kuhl in the bar and he'll have his results on Tuesday but was optimistic it might not be as bad as first feared. We'll see.

Not sure. He might have been number 17 or 18 and played central mid field possibly had some sort of beard.

Certainly stood out for me as the class player on view.

I also thought number 14 called Matthew looked good and Louis Walsh also did well.

Rhys, Josh, togs, Temi, luca, lenchy, George, Jonny, Francis, Ogo and Elliot.

Matty, Joe Dandy (25 mins) Gabe, Leon parillion-chambers, Ayresy (young players from Togs academy side) Walshy, Imran, Matteo Esposito (trialist) and Ed Port (trialist who has been doing a football scholarship in America).

The game overall was a good exercise, we probably had 75-80% possession which allowed us to work on things today which we had been practicing in training. The opposition weren’t great to be honest, I thought they’d be slightly better but all in all it’s much better than a training session.

Some of the trialists probably aren’t ready to be a part of the squad but there could be one or two that we look to dual register with other clubs so we can keep an eye on how the progress over a period of time.

Leon is definitely some I rate but he’s been injured for a while now but has got the attributes to be a very good player with more game time possibly elsewhere.

Thanks, so with potentially 3 games in 6 days now aside from Kuhl do we have a full squad to pick from presuming Dandy will be part of it seeing as he played a small part today? Are you still looking to bring in more players or this the squad until the end of the season?

Joe’s definitely not fully recovered! He will have to build his fitness and take it carefully probably for 7-10 days. That’ll be us done for a while now, very happy with what we have. I’d love to add one more but right now that’s just not possible! But from where we were 3-4 weeks ago, I’m delighted with our squad.

Thanks bluerebel, appreciate it. I don’t want to sound too cliche but I think with a lot of change happening mid season, everything was going to take time.

Everyone has been absolutely brilliant to the lads and I so far, I think they can see the effort being put in by all.

Let’s just hope we can complete the job in hand, to stay up!
