Final Table Prediction

I’ve no idea!

Our performances are very inconsistent at the moment….. I think we’ll probably see the good, the bad, & the ugly in the next three matches.

Let's hope our team is more 'The Three Amigos' for those 3 games !

We need our squad to be 'all on the same page' going into these games.

Mistakes will happen whatever but Slough should have enough about them to grind out enough points in the remaining games to stay in this division.

Keep the faith.

Talking of three amigos, just imagine a front 3 of Francis, George and Ogo, lenchy, Scott and togs in midfield, Josh, Temi, Joe and Gabe back 4! Plenty of goals in that team!

Sounds ok except you'll be leaving out Luca and Johnny Goddard.

Goddard was one of our best players on Saturday and you'd be losing his creativity and ability to score a goal.

The latest nonsense from the prediction table says we'll only get 3 points from our last six games finishing on 46 but still avoiding relegation!

Yes, hopefully the first part of the prediction is nonsense because if not the second part will definitely be nonsense 😒

I don't disagree that Johnny had his best game for us this season, but I would be interested to know how many goals and assists has he got this season?

He has 5 goals from 35 league appearances, but none in his last 13 matches. His last goal was in the 4-3 win against Dulwich.

To put it into perspective in a difficult season, that is one more than Matt Lench in a similar number of league appearances this season.

I think you also need to put into perspective what positions the players play in. Matt Lench and Johnny Goddard are creative players in general but Matt tends to do more tackling than Johnny as he is often put in centre midfield,so for me I would like to know how many assists they have, as much as their goal returns.

Having just looked at the stats on the Slough Town FC website their returns are not as bad as some may think when you consider Elliot Benyon has 3 goals in 30 games, Imran Kayani has 3 goals in 24, Francis Amartey has 2 goals in 7 games and Ogo Obi has 5 goals in 18 games and they are our strikers.

Josh Jackman considering his position[usually right back or wing back] probably has the best return given he has scored 5 goals in 38 games.Scott Davies has 3 from 38 and Lee Togwell has 3 goals from 36 games.

What about the more difficult prediction on whether we'll stay up or not if we get those 3 points?

That’s not a difficult prediction, 50 points will definitely be sufficient to avoid relegation, despite us now being in the latter stages of the season where several clubs have nothing to play for.

Concord, Hungerford & Weymouth won’t even achieve the 47 points we already have.

And Cheshunt shouldn’t even be getting 7 points from Ebbsfleet (A), Bath (H), Tonbridge (A), Chelmsford (H), Worthing (H) when the last four are all challenging for a play-off place at present.

I honestly don't understand this blind assumption that 50 points will guarantee safety (I had somebody on the Rebels Radio comments yesterday assure me of this as well). For us that'll be 1 win & 2 defeats (or 3 draws) from our remaining 3 games. 50 might be enough (I certainly hope it will be), but it's barking mad to assume that will be the case.

Never underestimate what a team desperate and scraping at the bottom and with time running out can do, if there is light at the end of the tunnel. Not realistically gone like Concord, if (biggest word in the English language I know) Cheshunt win their games in hand they will be only 1 point behind us. The same goes for Dulwich and their game in hand. Cheshunt's next game is against Ebbsfleet who have nothing to play for, so don't be surprised if they pull of an "upset". Dulwich still have Hungerford and Concord to play in their final 4 games. Reading Rebel is right about our run-in being much more difficult.

Which makes Saturday's game even bigger.

I just think there are sides around us who have a much easier run in.

OK they will have win a high % of their games but it's that time of the season when form for some clubs will start dropping off a cliff and motivation to win is everything.

Out of the 9 points available from the final 3 games I believe Slough are more than capable of getting 4 or 6 points from them. Farnborough are a good footballing team but they have weaknesses at the back that Slough could exploit. Like the game against Chippenham Slough need to get on the front foot early and so why not pick an adventurous attacking line up to have a real go at Farnborough on Saturday?

To me Ogo Obi wouldn't be sitting on the bench getting splinters and it might even be worth playing 3 strikers for this game. I think with George Alexander, Francis Amartey and Ogo on the field I think Slough could upset Farnborough's defence. I would leave Elliot Benyon out of the starting eleven for this one. To me a 3-4-1-2 makes sense now that Temi is out.

Having two games at home and one away, should give Slough a very small advantage on the relegation teams around them and as much as these three games are against formidable opposing teams, none of them will think Slough will be an easy side to get points from,so from that angle I remain positive that come the end of the season Slough will just about hang on to their National South status, if our management team can get the players up for these three tight call battles.
