The floodlight was out on Monday and the club needed a cherry picker to get it fixed. The contractor that the council used couldn’t do it Monday but said they could possibly do it on Tuesday, but wasn’t a certainty, hence why the game didn’t go ahead.

It was fixed late yesterday afternoon. We would have played the friendly with the light on or off but for a league match it wouldn’t have been acceptable.

No hidden agenda or anything like that. I/we were happy to play the league game at theirs or at ours, but in hindsight like many have said, I don’t think it was a bad thing for us to now play them at home on a Saturday in April.

But more importantly what was the friendly result Scott!!!! What was the line ups? Your opinion/review of the game?

In our current situation we need to gain every advantage that we can get.

That's definitely not to say that we should do anything "underhand" or anything like that, but we are fighting for our National League South lives at the moment.

Playing Farnborough yesterday would greatly have helped them in getting their fixtures completed.

They are also in a great run of form and we are not.

I am a Slough Town fan, and I hope we  play them at their place when they are in the middle ( or end ) of a tiring backlog of fixtures and in a much worse run of form.

I'd be stupid to think otherwise.

To me, to have even contemplated for a second the thought of swapping the fixture to  Arbour Park was at best, silly.

Scotty also now seems to have changed his original thoughts on the matter.

I think that all this "confusion" has done is to give Farnborough an added incentive to turn us over when we eventually play them.

Why do that?

Winning games is hard enough at any time.

Listening to Mr Day's interview and reading a few comments on Farnborough's social media pages , they are rather "unhappy" that we say we couldn't play against them  at Arbour

Park yesterday, but arranged a friendly at home instead.

Mr Day says the Slough management wanted to play the game but hints that perhaps others at the club didn't.

The reason given for the Farnborough game not being played at Arbour Park may well be valid, but I feel the way things have turned out hasn't done us any favours.

And to me it was all so unnecessary.

We’re 3 unbeaten after a horrendous long winless run so I’d say our recent form is very good considering. Nothing new with Day having a good moan and deflecting any blame.

Yes, just listened to Spencer Day spouting off and saying he thinks there is more to it than as he puts it 'a few light bulbs' needing replacing.

The bottom line is all Spencer Day is interested in is not having a fixture back log in the coming weeks/months.

Not sure why we ever contemplated helping them out and after listening to his interview and some of the tweets from some of their not so bright supporters I'm glad it all fell through.

Precisely.

Farnborough are our rivals and when we play them at the end of the season we might need to get points off them to stay in this division and if they are having to play two games a week and picking up injuries we will all be rejoicing.

So didn't Farnborough call our game off with them earlier in the season because off a big cup game on the Saturday????

Yes Ian.

Because of their big cup on the Saturday against Wrexham, Farnborough asked us for a favor and agree to call off the league game which we agreed to saying if we were in the same boat we'd hope that they'd do the same for us.

I think we were originally due to be away to Farnborough on October 15th, but Farnborough were still in the F.A. Cup and played that day in the 4th Qualifying round against Biggleswade Town.

If my memory serves me right, we arranged, at short notice, our previously postponed game away at Dover for that Saturday.

We lost 3 nil to Dover.
