TBH my first thought when this fixture was rearranged was why the rush?

The only benefits that I can see as you have pointed out HR are all in favor of Farnborough.

They are well behind with their fixtures and the last thing they would want is to play catch up playing 2 or 3 games a week if they want to get into the play-offs.

As for us we are well ahead in our fixtures so by seemingly rearranging this fixture in a rush I really can't see any benefits to us only negatives.

I believe im correct in saying that fixtures have to be rearranged within 40 days! Happy to be corrected by anyone who knows otherwise.

Hi Adrian.

I do not know if this 40 day league ruling is correct, but it makes me think of something that I said on here at the start of this season.

I said I thought it was ridiculous that there were so few league matches arranged for Tuesday's at the start of the season.

In the first 8 weeks of this season, in the kind weather months of August and September,  we had 4 midweek matches.

FOUR.

And one of those was an August Bank Holiday Monday match.

So four blank Tuesday's at a time of the season when the less diehard and committed fans would have been most able and enthusiastic to go out and see a match.

It didn't take a genius to realise that the more games played when the weather was good would help teams come January/February time when matches are more likely to be called off for bad weather.

This point was raised at the time.

No logical reason why mid week games couldn't have been played for the whole of August and September.

Better to be ahead of schedule than behind with a back log of games to fit in.

I'm happy for us to play tomorrow. Form and availability are as good as they've been for a while and we had a relatively light workout on Saturday.

Plus I’m certain players would rather play than train! If we win no one will be mentioning why we’ve seemingly given into Farnborough’s demands!!!

Just been announced, it will not be reversed.

So it will be subject to a pitch inspection tomorrow I guess given not only all the wet weather but the freezing temps due tonight onwards.

Turning into a bit of a farce now! Thanks council for your support… quite likely the game will be postponed due to the forecast and Farnborough playing on grass. If it’s postponed just arrange it for a date in February when hopefully it’s more likely to go ahead.

Or March/April.

Slough council.

Glen, how do you know it was the Council who put a block on it?
