Spencer Day crowing about their win and magnificent performance against Dulwich.

Spencer Day made some interesting points. He had every right to be pleased with Farnborough's win at Dulwich. One good thing is Slough won't have to face Oliie Pendlebury on Tuesday,as he has joined Aldershot so that's a plus.

I hope Scott,Lee and Yella get the lads up for this game, as Slough will need to be at their best to get something from this game. Would be great if our team wiped the smug grin off of Spencer's face on Tuesday night, by beating Farnborough.

Come On You Rebels !

Yes, would be great to put one over old smug face 😂

Just really unfortunate the game has come at a time when we have Aaron Kuhl missing.

I know one man shouldn't make a team but he is so important to making our midfield tick.

Impressive 3000+ gate  Tonbridge giving todays gate as 853

Agreed, thats what stood out for me. Dulwich do get crowds through the door.

Back to Farnborough, just reminising, one of my best away days there was a 6-2 win late 80s, could be early 90s. There was a video made of that day, which I had at the time.

Same again would be nice :P

With the switch back to grass for tomorrow night I checked the forecast, an awful lot of rain due that way tonight and all day tomorrow as it stands.

Without looking, I always remembered Barry Rake scoring, one thing that stood out in memory. We wore a Burnham like kit that day which at the time I found odd.

Sorry, my mistake, not quatres, but it was blue shorts and socks. Shirt was half and half, again from memory as a while ago, one side was dark blue and the other (whitish with soft tone of light blue). Maybe my explanation of Burnham colours not exact, but made me think of them. Probably thinking of the old Burnham Juniors kit...

I was there that day but don't remember the kit.

Perhaps we didn't turn up with our away kit so had to borrow theirs?

Think you might be right to be honest.

The lads put so much into Saturday I think the match being off will help us going forward plus they are on a good run at the minute.

I have to say that I was very surprised to see that this fixture was re-arranged so quickly after the postponement of last weeks match.

Why the rush?

I guess the League would want a postponed match re-arranged as soon as convenient, but I think it is very rare to get a new date only a week after an original postponement.

And as for form going into such an important clash, we are just starting to turn around an awfully long run of bad results while they are in a flippin' good run of positive results !

Why the rush to play them now ?

And now we are talking about reversing things so that we are at home on Tuesday ?

I don't see any advantage to us at all in doing this , and several disadvantages..........................unless we win.

First of all, if this match is played at Arbour Park on Tuesday we will definitely get a smaller gate on a freezing cold January evening than when it is supposed to be played on a Saturday in mid-April.

And secondly, if the match is played at Arbour Park on Tuesday, our run in of matches at the end of the season will be 3 away games in our last 4 league fixtures.

And 4 of our last 6 would be away from home.

Not a situation I would want if we are still in need of points to stay up !

Looking at ours and Farnborough's fixture list there seem to be at least 4 Tuesday's in March and April when we could play the original fixture at Farnborough.

I say again, why the seemingly manic rush to get this fixture played now ?

Perhaps there are things I am not aware of, but this is how things look to me.

TBH my first thought when this fixture was hurriedly rearranged was why the rush?

The only benefits that I can see as HR has pointed out are all in favor of Farnborough.

They are well behind with their fixtures and the last thing they would want is to play catch up playing 2 or possibly 3 games a week if they want to get into the play-offs.

As for us we are well ahead in our fixtures so by seemingly rearranging this fixture in a rush I really can't see any benefits to us only negatives.
