Two players depart

Two of our loan players, Youssef Chentouf and Arnold Matshazi have returned to their parent clubs following their loan periods expiring.

This ties in with Scott Davies saying he wanted to rely a lot less on loan players and leaves us with only one loan player on our books in Luca Woodhouse.

This of course, along with the big possibility that Aaron Kuhl could be on the sidelines for a number of weeks, leaves us with an even thinner squad than we already have.

Hopefully this is all forms part of the bigger picture and reinforcements to bolster our squad are in the pipeline.

Gabe George is down as a midfielder, ok we know he can play as a left back but is not imo his best position.

Who is this Jeannes feller? played a few minutes against Hanwell and hasn't been seen since. 

According to Scott it doesn't look good for Aaron. We can always hope for the best but it could be a good few weeks on the side lines.

In my opinion both Arnie and Youssef where a breath of fresh air. Young, pacey and always willing to work and track back.

They both contributed in the short time they were with us. Maybe we will see them again ( as long as it is not against us!!!)

17 players but…

1 is on loan and could be recalled any minute, anyone know how long we supposedly have him for?

1 is still injured and could still be 2-3 weeks away from full/match fitness.

Jeannes I wouldn’t consider a squad player more of a last resort ‘filler’.

Kuhl is injured and we’re awaiting to hear the extent of that.

So you can see how small the squad is currently and yes we desperately need at least 2 or 3 additions, ideally quality not just to make up the numbers.

We’ve extended Luca this afternoon until the end January.

Joe Dandy is hopefully 10-14 days away.

Connor Jeanes is someone we could call upon if needed.

Kuhly is due to have a scan.

We have to risk losing one or two to free up some money to get one or two in. Losing Arnie doesn’t leave us short in attacking areas at all. We have Ogo, Elliot, Walshy, Jonny, Imran and Lenchy who can all play in advanced positions. If we had extended Arnie it would have to be until the end of the season, and for as good as he’s been at times I feel like we can improve with bringing in better experience for the run in.

I was more disappointed in losing Youssef after the New Year’s Day game but he’s not our player and Wigan wanted him back so there’s not much I can do.

Just seems a bit of a mystery why we signed him and why he's still with us when he could possibly get a game elsewhere.

He’s been dual registered with Harefield United to get games. I think it’s been months since he’s started a match so it’s the right thing for him at this stage in his career. He came in at a time where we were short. He’s continued to train with us and done well but he’s not one for now which he’s in agreement with. So suits both parties.

Jeannes played at centre half on the 2nd as Harefield lost 1-4 to Thatcham.
