Due to the current very cold weather conditions and the immediate outlook which promises more of the same, the SSML has agreed that the home Club can postpone the match if they decide there is no reasonable prospect of the ground being fit for play Saturday 17th December.

Another at Kilsby Lane well described by Hoopoe. A smart new ground which ticks all the boxes for step 6. Hot food and drinks in the clubhouse most welcome on a bitterly cold afternoon.
The game was very one sided with Borough showing little mercy. The goals went as follows
15’ Cross from left turned in by Josh Cooke 1-0
16’ Mistake by HG keeper Matt Messer. Ball squared to Sam Lockley who made no mistake 2-0
45+2’ Corner not cleared and Tyler Reeve fired in through crowded penalty area 3-0

53’ Cross from right swept in at back post by 16 year old academy player George Steele 6-0

It was a hopperfest at this ground today, with lots of familiar faces from around the Country. The 3g pitch being the reason this game survived the weather. I've not been to Rugby since promotion was gained, so was interested to see what improvements had been made to the ground. There is now a small seated stand on the far side and another one behind the goal. A new concrete walkway has been constructed at the gym end so if the need arises, the fence can be moved back, making it a four sided ground.
A kids Christmas party was being held in the bar so drinks were served from the players lounge before the game. It was good to get out of the cold.
The game saw the home team dominate. They scored 3 goals in the first half and added 5 in the second. The biggest cheer of the night went up when the visitors scored with 6 minutes left.

And another groundhopper from another Forum was in attendance at Kilsby Lane, I'm surprised the attendance was only 107:

A very sociable afternoon, furthest travelled was Luke 'Sussexhopper' and his pal, from Worthing, unless someone knows otherwise.
We were well looked after by RB FC, use of the players lounge was welcome and they seemed keen to please with teamsheets/programmes, 30 printed whilst we waited and snapped up very quickly, and hot drinks/food.
All said and done I was keen to get back in a warm car at games end, painless journey in both directions from Didcotshire via A34/M40/A43 and A5.
