Thought there were NDA's in place to stop the leaking of information?

However it does look like some are getting information and the majority are being treated differently, it stinks of old boys club.

When will these types of people ever learn?

It’s a horrible feeling being a concerned, many year supporter who knows nothing about what is going on.

However, the board cannot be expected to give fans updates on every option that is on the table (or not) when they are being discussed and evaluated. It’s about sourcing the right package for the club for now, the future and the aims of the football on the pitch.

of course. As supporters we don’t want a situation where we are saying- you agreed what,  that’s a shocking deal and if you had only embraced the supporters during the process we could have helped deliver something much better. The club will still need volunteers

To be honest Richard, the current board have cocked up this big time by not being 'open and transparent' on this matter. They didn't have to tell us everything [to keep within NDA guidelines] but not letting on what is going on is back to the bad old days of ' information for some but not for all ' and certainly not the way of getting every fan on board, if a new takeover is forthcoming.

Totally agree, this episode has left a bitter taste in a lot of loyal supporters mouths and I am not sure the current board will be able to regain the full trust of the fan's going forward.

At a time where the club can well do without alienating the fan base.

We all have a view which is how it should be and it’s a tough one for us all at this time.

Club advised we have no debts but attendances and revenues etc are down. Therefore reducing costs is a must and a new way forward should be found if possible. Best interests of the club etc.

perhaps the board could be saying there is no ground asset, so this is what we need from supporters if you can come to the table collectively with a plan and investment. Sounds great until cup runs don’t happen and attendances do not improve.

Let’s see and hope that any engagement on an agreement is forthcoming to supporters, especially where volunteers will be a big part of this.

The forum mafia are alive and well, with intentions of assassinating the board.

Call me old-fashioned, but if you happen to find something out that you’re probably not meant to know, and you care about the club and aren’t authorised to speak on its behalf, maybe don’t come on a public forum and piss people off by basically gloating that you know more than other supporters do? The club is obviously not in a position to say more than it has done already, or it would have done so. It can never stop people from speculating, no matter how much information is released officially.

That's my view, Matt. I don't need to know fine tooth detail stuff about everything happening at the club, or do I care [life's too short] but the way some of fans are finding out things and others are in the dark and clueless about what is happening behind the scenes at our beloved club, and bearing in mind the shock resignations of good guys Bakes and Unders still fresh, it doesn't lead to faith in the process of where the club is going with these 'offers' .

Yes I saw him at the Havant home game. He looks older than 17 !

Apologies if I got 'the wrong end of the stick' so to speak but as you are a fairly newcomer to this forum [with your alias] it struck me as odd that a select few have inside knowledge while the rest of us mere mortals are being kept in the dark. I hate all this secrecy crap it doesn't lead to good relations or trust among fans/the board.

No bother fella, water off a ducks back to me.

I use DonnyNo6 as its the same handle I use on all my social media and have done since the various platforms started, its no secret, my name is Mark Donovan, I'd imagine there's a lot on here know that anyway.

If I've annoyed or bothered anyone that wasn't the intention just trying in amongst all the criticism, other views and opinions aired and so on to hopefully allay some fears.

Interesting comment from Norbert22, his first on this subject.

Which goes to show there have only been a handful of people on here willing to check and question what is going on with the future of the club.

Do the rest have an unquestioning faith in the negotiations? Or are they just not bothered as long as the bar will be open for the next game? Or do they know their comments will be contemptuously ignored.

For a fan based club the lack of involvement and interaction is worrying.

So as the new owners get what they want, and they have given the board the answers they want to gain control, it looks like the vast majority will just go along with it like lemmings.

Let's hope the future is as rosy as some would like us to believe, don't say that I and a handful of others did not warn you of the risks.

If that's aimed at myself Matt then I'm certainly not gloating, there was no intention of that there or I would have jazzed it up like I know a big secret and everyone else doesn't so to speak and stirred it up.

I've sat back, listened and read on here a mass of stuff from all and sundry some of which is attacking the board personally and slagging characters off so I was just trying to somehow allay fears that the club is doomed when its far from it.

As I mentioned elsewhere, no upset or offence meant to anyone especially our own supporters.

Afternoon everyone!

Following on from Donny’s comments..

I think sometimes it’s just the way of life that people hear things before others do. Donny in this case from being at training where everything is spoken about amongst the staff and players, and the fact his lad has been with us for a few months now.

The outlook at the moment might see bleak but it certainly isn’t. It’s like anything in life, the board can’t announce anything until something is finalised and signed off.

I’m sure soon that there will be a positive announcement that the supporters will be happy with. Patience is key! Nothing happens overnight but we aren’t far away from good news.

Stick with it like you always have done and always will, and let’s hope tomorrow we can have a good day down at AP!

Hi Scott,

It’s no secret that the club currently have an issue with attendances being lower than pre-COVID.

It looks like they currently have a great publicity opportunity which could potentially make local & national media. In addition, this could be a fantastic opportunity to stimulate the interest of past & present fans & re-engage with them, and in doing so possibly get them back through the turnstiles.

So, why wouldn’t the current custodian Board & new potential owners put the final agreement to a vote of the members of the supporters trust, season ticket holders & possibly attendees of matches between now & when the deal is finalised.

If the deal is as good as everyone in the know is saying it is bound to be passed, and the engagement & inclusion could potentially boost attendances.

Wouldn’t that be a win-win-win, for the Board, new owners & fans?

That is an offer I can refuse.

Thank you for your input to this debate.

Sums up views of most fans, can't be fu*ked about what happens to the club!

Slough population 120,000

STFC fans 650, or 0.5 percent of population

Fans active on this forum debating the future 20, or 0.0016 percent of the population.

At least the few that are on here are passionate enough to care what happens!

In the big scheme of things there are bigger things to worry about than a football club.

I keep an open mind about most issues and have never had any qualms with those running our club and still haven't.

The trouble with these days, is that everything becomes about making money and profit.

Here in sunny Slough, we have a football club with a history and a fairly new stadium - council owned and a small but dedicated following of 500 plus fans, with loads more tagging along when glory games happen. The town is well known across the country and the club has received good publicity through fa cup runs and climbing back up the leagues. The club have no debts, so we are told.

Who buys football clubs?   People who see potential but people who also want to make money.Very few buy them to keep them as they are. Similar to when people buy pubs often turning a good local into a gastropub and killing it's character.

No one has a crystal ball to know whether this new consortium will be a good thing for our club. It reminds me of Alan Thorne[ex Millwall chairman] and his takeover of Slough Town FC/Wexham Park stadium, and the involvement of local known football scout Bob Pearson. That happened out of the blue but with lots of rumours/gossip happening beforehand,in the days before social media.

It would be good if our board can come clean, sooner rather than later, to lay out the full facts of this takeover to Slough fans, and restore the trust/faith we've had in them since Steve Easterbrook left.
