No not too bothered.

But good luck to him. He has to do what's best for him and his family.

No idea. Perhaps travelling is a factor.

Or he saw Luca Woodhouse in action and thought "Nah"

Anyone else disappointed with George Wells jumping ship possibly to a lower level in our time of need?

I certainly won't be wishing him good luck.

Bracknell I wonder? I would have thought he was on around £500 with us so can’t imagine too many lower leagues sides paying more? Unless he really just wants a new challenge and it’s not about the money?

Shame IMO to see George Wells leave. He was also on my list of 7 (which is down to 5 now) to try and keep. I knew (as in had a good feeling as opposed to any inside trading) he was going to leave after being off ill last week v Ebbsfleet and Concord. Weak from him IMO that. I thought he had been very good for us both at left back and centreback this season and I think he would have fit very well into this new system Scott and Lee are playing currently in be LWB and CB roles, but thats not too be. Will be interesting to see where he pops up.

Fabio Sole wasn't on my list but I do think both it is a shame to see him leave and that I understand why he did. I think he is the sort of player that could have developed well under Scott and Lee, but also understand that he wants to get playing as much as possible and with Neil and Jon not giving him a go in the team and our central midfield (especially in this new system) being quite congested with options, he was never going to get the chances he needs at this stage. Looking forward to seeing how he pans out as its clear to me he has talent and a future.

I'm quite gutted he's gone, always been a fan of his..

I don't often bother with caring / ready what players are on, but someone put £500 above. Forgive my naivety, but surely that is not a week at our level?

After the gaffers jumping ship, disappointed to seeing a number of players (and experienced ones) following suit.

£500 per week is "easily" available at this level RM, plenty of players on way more than that. Unfortunately football has gone mad (only need to look back a couple of years to see Ebbsfleet I think it was post £2 million debt from 1 season, covered by their owner of course).

I know a player that trialed with us a few season back that wanted £800 per week plus goal bonuses (hence why he didn't sign) and I also know that we had a centreback, in the central league prior to Neil and Jon taking over (so 10-12 years ago) who was on £350 per week.

I'm not sure (and this is total speculation on my part) that George would have been on quite that much (just thinking on his position, our potential budget and that make up of our squad at the start of the season when he would have agreed money with us) I'd expect him to be on £300-400 per week, but as I say, thats speculation and £500 per week may have been closer to the mark.

Seriously? Why would he sign for them unless he has mates there. Certainly can’t be for the money.

🤷‍♂️

Hanworth have money and a certain player there is I believe paid by a fan/sponsor.  They ripped the league up at step 5 last season and have some ambitions to progress.

I wonder if they still have the unpleasant fan following? Slough had problems with them when we were groundsharing at Beaconsfield.

With George Wells and Guy Hollis I think it is more to do with loyalty to Bakes and Unders that they have decided to leave, and if our former joint managers get a position at a club at our level both of those could well end up with them again.

Aaron Kuhl and Josh Jackman are the two others that may be tempted to leave. I hope not, as they are our best players currently in my opinion but both are likely to attract offers. Matt Lench, I still feel can be a force in this new ensemble under Scott Davies, so if he cuts out his antics/play acting, he's another player I would like to stay at Slough,as he's still got a lot to offer our team. There's a few others but won't name them all.

Luca was oringinally 1st January on his signing info I believe Ian. Having seen his performance v Concord, he was one of very few positives to cmoe out of that game so hopefully if he continues to perform, we can secure him for a while more.

Hopefully he stays otherwise unless one comes in we wouldn't have a left back.

The thing is it is disappointing to see these players jumping ship now that the going is getting tough but what we don't know about is the budget.

If it's been cut I suppose we can cut them some slack along with being offered more money at another club but otherwise I thing it's a poor show from them.
