trust launch

Indeed, good night had by all. Highlights have to be Ian and his mystery ladies, Dave's dancing and Matt Miller's inept failure to win anything on the raffle. Hopefully the game will be on tomorrow especially as Roger has a car full of yellow and blue balloons for the occasion. Unless he was arrested on the way home for not being able to see out of the back window. Also, great to see so many of the current squad there along with faces from the past, and well done to the lads for making the effort, especially Hodgy who probably gave enough money to the bar to keep the place open for years. Big ups to Chris S/Ian/Mark H/Colin/Mike/Alan for getting the Trust off the ground and lets hope it brings good fortunes for the Club for years to come. Cheers.

A big thank you to everybody for turning up. Once all the preparation is done the biggest worry is always whether people will make the effort to come so it was great to see so many there.

Thanks especially to all the people who helped in the background as Chris has mentioned (Emma, Kay, Gary, Alan Smith, John Tebbit, Dom etc etc. - apologies if I missed anyone) and a special mention to the Polish Association who not only provided us with a fantastic venue but were as helpful and accommodating as it's possible to be.

As for my mystery ladies, Radders, in true politician style, I have no comment!

Well done to everyone who had obviously put a lot of effort into organsing the event - and of course all the effort in getting the trust off the ground in the first place. Great turn-out too, and some fancy moves from David.

Recommend people read the Supporters Direct magazine which gives an idea of the different ways supporters trusts around the country have generated funds/publicity/community work - be good to have some of these available at home games and to give it a plug in programme so more people can read it and hopefully see the importance of being a member.

Only down side was - I'm in Slough so of course we have no game. Went to a windy Marlow to see them lose comprehensively to Tamworth, who were far too strong for them, and also outnumbered Marlow supporters - there was hundreds of them. Plus Wycomble, Bracknell etc fans in attendance but no Slough apart from me. Did everyone have a hung over day off?

I just wanted to say well done to Chris Sliski and the crew for an event well-organised in every way. It's very difficult to stand in front of everyone and make a presentation, but it went superbly in my view. The event also served to raise a little bit of money, not to mention the extra people who joined the trust - if the number of members was 130-ish before last night then I would like to think that figure would be nearer 200 before too long.

Also thanks to members of the squad for going, they obviously knew the match today would be off judging by the amount of booze they consumed <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> ..... and bad luck Matty Miller for managing to win absolutely nothing in the raffle despite holding loads of the tickets !!

Good to see loads of banter as well (we don't really hate you Sliski)

Well done everyone

Thanks for making the effort to get there Warren. You make a good point about fund raising because whilst the next major step needs to be election of Trust officers, fund raising can and should be going on straight away.

We want to take advantage of the publicity the Trust is getting and get fund raising initiatives started immediately. Watch out for details soon of cunning ways we can think of to make you part with your money!

Just want to add my two pence worth of thanks to Mr S, Ian and everybody else who was involved in putting a great evening together. Cheers to our former players and local politicians for coming along and also the Supporters Direct woman for being Ian's scarlet lady!

I look forward to becoming actively involved in the trust and contribute to the future of our great club.
