Or maybe speak to any of them at most games.

Why should I have to approach them? Obviously you’re not that fussed whether they say anything or not but I am, I don’t think it’s asking that much to get some words from the board even if it’s bad news, should we not know?

But they must know if the current budget (assuming it’s not been cut recently) is sustainable or not? If not then any cut would obviously see players depart and lesser players join to plug the holes, which most of us would then fear relegation as quite possibly. As some have said maybe the club feel they can only support a budget that would be competitive in the league below? So there’s quite a lot they could tell us if they want to.

Not sure I agree Glen. The budget has been the big focus since Monday and I'm not sure the current budget is that relevant, and here's why. What if the new manager can come in and improve the team with less money? What if the new manager comes in and gets rid of half the side and changes those players into different ones? What if the new manager has a spare £10k per week he wants to put into the side? What if potential new owners didn't like Neil and Jon but didn't want to takeover and sack the legends and now they have left something happens on that front? etc, etc, etc - all of those questions and more would be very difficult for the board to answer and would also make the current club situation irrelevant and why I say we need to take a breath, give it some time and then, when there are more certain things to say, they can arrange things and communication.

In addition to the above, what if the board is looking to release 3 more players, reduce the budget and relegate the team? Would that encourage fans to the ground and get people watching? There is just too many what ifs currently to make any comms worth it I'd say.

I do understand however your need / want to know whats happening and I guess the best the board can offer at the moment came at the end of the Monday evening statement about Neil and Jon.

I fully appreciate your points which are all valid and who knows maybe there are discussions going on as we speak. I’m not asking for a full financial breakdown just maybe some comforting words of hope! Even if the board don’t wish to announce anything financially could they not keep us upto date with the manager search? Obviously the easy cheap option is to keep the 3 man team and they currently have the opportunity to impress. But it’ll be nice to hear in the next week or so how the search/process in coming along?

Totally reasonable, and I suspect we will hear from them before next weeks home game and I would be disappointed if we don't get at least an update by then.

So it looks like we had Kwasi Kwarteng doing the budgeting for the club, someone needs to own up to this cock-up and fall on their sword.

It has cost the club the best managers it ever had!

I consider that the board have put in a considerable effort during the last two seasons to improving our home attendances. There were 1,248 at the pre-season friendly against Arsenal but we didn't see many of the new faces amongst them again. I notice quite a few regulars have dropped out during the last two seasons. We have played nine home league matches this season with four attendances in the range 439 to 478; one of 553 and four in the range 607 to 674. I don't think that the board would have been that pessimistic in estimating match income in the 2022/3 budget. And how other lines of income such as sponsorship have fared we have no information on.

To me, it is the people of Slough and not the Slough Town FC board who have cost Rebels the best managers that they ever had.

Bit harsh on the people of Slough when we don't know what personal circumstances there are for people not attending matches.

Poor attendances should be placed firmly at the door of Covid and the rising cost of living not helped by our home form.

I have been a member of the Trust and do want to rejoin. Alan G has sent me the forms but would rather pay cash. I can't make the Barleycorn meeting but will make an effort to get to a home game and get this sorted.

I understand why Stuntman Mark suggested the supporters trust AGM as a coming together to hear from the board but wouldn't it be better to have an OPEN meeting with ALL Slough Town FC fans who care about the club,at say Arbour Park, or somewhere else near, as not everyone who follow Slough FC are Trust members.

I believe you have Alan G's address!

You can always send him a cheque made payable to STSA Ltd or send an email to the trust email address confirming your email and he will be able to contact you to make some other arrangement.

Yes you have to be a member to be at the meeting.

I am wondering if 1 of the board could attend.

Re the Trust AGM please see new topic on this forum. The trust will have an open forum AFTER the AGM has concluded. ( providing non members join on the night).

Arbour Park is not on the surplus list nor recommended for disposal according to the disposal pipeline Surprised at the low  valuation 5,855,000

As it stands the land cannot be built on as owned by the Department of Education not SBC, I guess that affects the valuation?

There's a council meeting this Thursday (15th December) discussing the future sales of their assets.

Some very interesting stuff on there.

Must be too many restrictions on the land v the stadium v development to make it worthwhile for anyone to do anything other than what it is.

Reading the report they have a timeline out to 2027 so hopefully any potential issue with the stadium is on the backburner from the council.

Yes the only problems we may encounter will be from Max Caller the lead Government apointee charged with obtaining Best Value from any existing or future deals.

Thats where the low valuation might well come in our favour. Currently they have a 7 year old community stadium that serves many purposes, with sitting "main" tenants that pay I'm sure a very health rent per annum technically forever. The negative (if it can get more negative about a council that has gone bankrupt!!!!) press if nothing else for the council looking to sell off warehouses in Wolverhampton etc is virtually nothing v selling off a community stadium only recently built on their doorstep isn't too me on the agenda for plenty of time moving forwards.

Im sure they dont have an intention to sell but Max Caller has a reputation for improving returns  Our rent was set low in exchange for a social offset of things the club agreed to do for the local community and of course covid meant we couldnt do a lot whilst restrictions were on  The agreement in detail between the council and Thames Valley Sport and Leisure is online if you wish to peruse it
