I wouldn’t give him too long to decide, as you want a player who really wants to play for the club instead of pimpimg himself out to the highest bidders.

Glen why do you think he is being pimped out to the highest bidders, absolutely not the case, there are various reasons why we don’t have an answer yet, and will not pressurise the young lad.

You get far more information than most, just let us do our job and when there is any news positive or negative we will let you all know.

Patience it’s probably like Rhys.

As an example.

Rhys 100% wanted to sign for Slough when this option came about.

No pimping occurred, his agency do not work like this and have a very transparent football relationship with the Slough gaffers.

In fact the agents are a great shield in also protecting the younger lads as someone else had asked why have agents at this level as it’s not always about playing at the highest level you can.  There is a dark world in football and tapping up occurs.

So I wonder how agents make their money at non league level? Very few transfers involve any fee, so I guess the buying club has to pay the agent? Or are there instances where the player pays a portion of the agents fee? So the agency looking after Rhys wouldn’t have made anything from him committing until the end of the season, I guess they’re banking on him moving up a level where they may get a fee if he moves on?

My point really was as the CF sounds like he has other options or being advised/tapped up, patience would be key to make sure that Slough really is where he sees his next progression depending on who is involved or advising.  Bit like buying a car you look around and pick the one that suits your needs and budget.

On to your point outside the top 4 leagues I know some agancies my sons being one of them that make no money, but look after the younger lads plus lads with some bad luck on their side with no funds exchanging hands anywhere, strange you may think but there are some good people/agencies out there dont get me wrong they would all like a player or two that goes up the football pyramid on their portfolio but the player has to want to do that as well and it has to be the right fit for all.

FYI all contracts have a earnings threshold before any money goes the way of the agent, so the more the player earns the more your kick back is after the threshold.

Yes, the player has to want it. That's why I've heard a lot of stories about a player's relatives becoming his agents. Everybody makes money :)

Since we officially announced that Rhys was our number 1 on 5th Oct  every game has been lost and 8 goals conceded  I sincerely hope that doesnt affect his confidence he's madebrilliant saves in these games and clearly has a great future He isn't  responsible for the unforced errors in front of him!

Without him yesterday we might have even been in worse trouble as I'd say he made at least 5/6 really good saves.

He tweeted out last night that he was gutted with the loss (none of the goals were stopable IMO) and is ready to go again for the team and fans. So he comes across fairly resilient which is good to see.

He's a top lad and he cares a lot
