A good win for Lutterworth Athletic last night albeit they made hard work of it against decent Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division opposition, Alex Rhodes, Jake Gardener, Jes Adcock, Charlie Adcock and Jake Smith all netted. The Club now look forward to a Quarter Final home tie against Asfordby FC or St Andrews FC who lock horns this eveing (9 November):

There was some doubt about this tie earlier on today due to the freezing conditions however I gather it is going ahead as planned. Ingles FC have only plied their trade at Homestead Road (pictured) in Thringstone, North West Leicestershire, for over a year having previously groundshared with Shepshed Dynamo:

A ultra pernickety pitch inspecting Official caused a twelfth hour postponement of the tie last Wednesday evening, they try again on Tuesday (14 February), at Lutterworth Athletic, kick off 7.45pm). The eventual winners of the tie will meet Ashby Ivanhoe in 'a winner takes all' Final of the competition:

Huge disappointment for Lutterworth Athletic last night, losing 3-1 to Midland League Division One Ashby Ivanhoe, however congratulations to the Club on their exciting run to the Final of the Leicestershire & Rutland FA Senior Cup, a match report and photographs to follow:

An enjoyable game, both sides played some attractive football in front of a large crowd.
AI took the lead on 28 mins and went in one up at the break. LA equalised on 50 mins before AI showed their superiority by scoring two more goals to run out worthy winners by 3 goals to 1.
No changes to the County FA ground that I could see since my last visit a few years ago, all the stands that Leicester City FC put in when their Under 23 side used the venue remain in situ.
Good to catch up and chat with some local hoppers and an easy journey there and back on the Arriva 84 bus service.
Bottles only in the Clubhouse bar, no draught beer available.
Pre. and post match at the Ale Wagon where the ale was on form as usual and a good chat with KK of this site was had.
