Just to confirm this is after Lenchy has played the ball and onside, no debate!

This makes the decision even worse, not even close!

Bloody robbed of a place in the 3rd Qualifying Round ?

There was at least 50 away fans so just over 400 home fans is poor. We now have 2 tough away games against what I see as ‘bogey’ teams so unless we play to our very best pints may be hard to come by. We need 4 from 6 to maintain our play off push.

Yes it is poor but it’s a sign of the times unfortunately, people that attend are lucky they can afford it as a lot of others cannot.

I thought we were excellent defensively.

1st goal, no blame on the back 4, just one of those things.

2nd goal, probably can pick the bones out of it and point the finger at someone BUT I think the players like everyone else were in complete shock at this point.

3rd goal, as Unders said, couldn’t care less and isn’t a result of bad defending, we had everyone going for the equaliser.

One thing not really said is Worthing are unbeaten this season and from what I saw, are a bloody good team who play some bloody good football, best team I’ve seen us play so far. Ok, they got the rub of the green with the decisions but up until the officials eventually tipped their decision making over the edge it was a good contest between 2 good competitive teams. We’ll win more than we lose playing the way we did and I think people need to credit all at that club a bit more for the squad that has been put together and maybe stop saying we need this and that as we simply do not have the money, if we did I’m sure Bakes and Unders would tweak things but not massively, we’re not a million miles away!

Enjoy the ride, COME ON YOU REBELS!

My assessment of Slough is on one game[that of yesterday's performance] and I concur with you WR that Slough as a club have to go with what they can afford in recruitment terms.

I thought Slough edged the first half without really creating a lot going forward. On unbeaten Worthing I didn't see that much from them to suggest they will be challenging for the title.I might be wrong but I see them slipping down the table rather than pushing up, as the season goes on.

Slough did well enough in stifling Worthing first half, bar one or two efforts that came from Slough's left hand side when George Wells roamed out of position, and up to Lee Togs quality goal Slough had given very little to Worthing to play off but Slough were rather fortuitous to score when they hadn't created a lot going forward either. To me, this is the type of game I've gotten used to seeing Slough play in the National Premier South. Knowing that Slough were under strength and the magnitude of the FA Cup rounds I would have been happy with what ever way we could have garnered that win. My point is that I thought our side looked to be missing a component to spark us. I was expecting John Goddard to do more [perhaps unfairly] as I have known his merits for some time.

Anyway,on this cup match Slough didn't deserve to lose in how this game panned out but wether they deserved to win outright is open to interpretation. On paper I expected a close game beforehand and we certainly got that on the day but certainly not the result we wanted.

Yes disappointing for sure and officials had a big influence on this game.and McLeod 100% should have been sent off and he knows it, my call on it is by Ben running over and getting involved which then escalated this gave McLeod some grace due to the carnage the ref had too sort out and his desperation in showing his ripped shirt to the ref making out he was on the end of some bad behaviour as well! if Lench stays down (as it was right in front of the lino) there is no grey areas to look through - straight red.  That said the ref officials bottled it imho!!

Worthing are a very brave footballing side and make the pitch very wide in possession but for 80 minutes they had very little success in the final third in creating what I would class as a real opportunities, yes some half chances where there.  A lot of there nice football was played in their half or just in our half (keep ball) but they didn't really leave a glove on us and are back four looked fine and dandy (not punt intended).

Worthing IMO became a much bigger threat in the last 10 and extra time as they increased tempo and got the ball forward a lot quicker after what should have been a red card incident.

I thought Lee Togwell was our motm yesterday goal aside he had a great game in what at times was 2v3 in centre midfield.

Slough are in good shape and I stand by my earlier posts, the playoffs are well within our reach come the end of the season as long as we don't have poor officials every week as for sure this season we have had more go against us then with us on decisions.

Up the Rebels

Fair play to you for saying Togs was MOTM[given your son's position]. It's funny how different fans see things. I thought Lee was rusty out of the blocks for the first 20 minutes or so but got better as the game wore on. Centre midfield is such a hard position to play and is often under the radar of fans as to how fit the centre midfielders need to be. Lee Togwell has been a class player for Slough over the years and never seems to have a bad game for Slough but I thought he grew into the game yesterday rather than being the best player over the 90 odd minutes.

I saw him have a bad game very recently but all players have off days.

Yes I spoke with them quite calmly in the bar, as let’s be honest at that stage nothing can be done. (This is rare for me to talk to the officials afterwards however)

You rarely get much out of them, but we had an honest conversation (they took my points and I took theirs) unfortunately at times the response is not normally what you want to hear, however the assistant did admit that he felt there was probably a foul and potential penalty on Lenchy in the last minute, and anywhere else in the pitch would be a free kick, but the ref played an advantage ??
We did discuss the potential red card, as he was right there, my immediate response when it happened was to say you saw that, to which his reply was I saw it, and he stepped onto the pitch, I was 100 per cent certain that the lad would be sent off, as I was telling our lads to calm down as he was off because of what the assistant said, however he confirmed that he didn’t think it was violent conduct, even though the lad had raised his hands.

Listen it is always a tough job for officials, and they get things right and wrong however they don’t mean to get decisions wrong , I think however we have been on the end of some poor decisions this season already, and that just amplifies the feeling of being hard done by.

We certainly were on the end of at least two very contentious decisions, both of which could have had a very different outcome.

They say decisions get evened up over the course of the of a season.

But unfortunately that is history, and we will have to move on and try for a trophy run, and continue our good run in the league.

We want a day out at Wembley, no pressure ?

Thanks for that Neil I wouldnt have liked to think that our disappointment wasnt aired  As you say very unlikely youd get an admittance that they made an error but it sounds like a calm conversation took place where our points of view were firmly made May help in their future games.

I was pretty much in line on the far side with 2 first half offside decisions. It shows what a hard job it is for the lino as I thought the second one was offside in real time! However, I'm not a qualified official so it's disappointing that he's messed up twice in that way as both would have resulted in goals (includes the one filmed).

Is George a holding midfielder?

Certainly couldn't get two players more different.

Footyfan, my reply was to 3spirit who seemed to be comparing Georges playing position to Lee Togwell.

RR, I wasn't and neither was I talking about holding midfielders.
