Is there any news on this as yet, there is a thread on another Forum entitled 'Football Implications From Death Of The Queen' and this is an example of one of the posts, I note Karen hasn't posted on there as yet to reliably inform her chums, who hang on her every word, about the SSML's stance. There is rumour that the Queen's funeral is likely to be held on Monday 19 September which also throws a doubt over next weekend's fixtures including the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round:

Saturday 17th is the scheduled date for FAC 2QR.
Obviously the death of any monarch, let alone the Queen for the last 70 years, is just a tad more important than football scheduling but that date couldn’t really be worse from a football scheduling point of view.
I doubt the FA would move those games to midweek because of all the travelling and short notice, so it would have to be moved to the next weekend and that in turn would throw out the 2 weekly schedule of rounds plus of course moving all the league games scheduled for the next weekend into midweek some time.
I can see a lot of work coming up for Club Secretaries

Karen is still conspicuous by her absence however there appears to be a statement issued by the FA earlier today confirming the postponement of tomorrow's fixtures:

As a mark of respect, following the passing of Her Majesty the Queen, English football has united to postpone all football fixtures between 9-11 September.
The FA can confirm that all football fixtures across the Barclays Women’s Super League, Barclays Women’s Championship, the Vitality Women’s FA Cup, and the Isuzu FA Trophy, will be postponed this weekend.
We can also confirm that all football fixtures across the National League System [NLS], Steps 1-6, including the Vanarama National Leagues, the Women’s Football Pyramid [WFP], Tiers 3-7, and matches across grassroots football in England will be postponed
.”

There's a lot of debate on another Forum (see below) as to whether it was the correct decision to postpone all football tomorrow, was it really necessary to do so and taking into account many other sports are still going ahead:

Absolutely nonsensical, but it is what it is. I expect the rest of the English leagues will swiftly follow suit, and then we have to hope it's just this weekend and nothing more.

All off this weekend, no football whatsoever. But don't worry! You can still go to gigs, the cinema, the pub, whatever you want, but don't you dare go and watch some sport! Oh, and you better go to work too, no stopping that. Absolutely ridiculous decision.

Trust the FA to get it completely wrong. This is going to wreak havoc with fixture congestion, especially with these games having to move to midweek at a time when Clubs are already struggling with increasing energy bills. Suspect it won't just be this weekend affected either, with the funeral likely to be at the end of next week. Absolutely ridiculous decision.

What's disrespectful about playing football this weekend? Prince William is it's President have they asked him what he thinks, or have they decided on his behalf? Or isn't he allowed an opinion. There's nothing more patronising and disrespectful than others deciding on what you should think and do for you.

So what will we all be doing this afternoon out of interest, they are still going at it, hammer and tongs, on another Forum whilst they kick their heels and twiddle their thumbs. Perhaps common sense should have prevailed and football could have gone ahead as is the case with many other sports today:

The FA have got it wrong. I had five matches scheduled between Friday and Sunday, I would have shown my respect by participating in five minutes of silence or whatever other options had been selected by the various Clubs to show their respect. As it happens, I will now not be taking part in any mark of respect for the Queen, neither will hundreds of thousands of other people who would have been doing the same at hundreds of other matches over the weekend. While the BBC report acknowledges that not everyone is happy with the decision, it makes no criticism of the FA decision, the FA should have been brought to book for making a knee-jerk decision resulting in inconvenience and cost for many people at short/no notice. For example, the decision was announced while I was en-route to a 1pm kick-off yesterday afternoon, all it cost me was a couple of hours of time and a gallon of diesel. Others will have been put out to a much greater extent, the better decision would have been to reschedule next weekend's fixtures which would probably have run into the funeral so the whole thing could have been one event over three or four days. This would have given everyone concerned time to make whatever arrangements were necessary.

A nice messege from Leighton Town:

https://www.leightontownfc.co.uk/news/club-announcement-matches-social-functions-cancell-2727646.html

CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT - MATCHES & SOCIAL FUNCTIONS CANCELLED THIS WEEKEND

In line with all football Clubs across the Country, we are demonstrating our respect for her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by postponing all matches involving teams from Leighton Town FC for this weekend, this includes the First Team game away at Baldock Town and the Development Team fixture at home to Potton United.

We have also postponed all social functions scheduled for this weekend, including the ‘Soul Night’ tomorrow evening. We apologise for any inconvenience this will cause as we know the Soul evenings are hugely popular but we strongly believe that this was the right decision to take as a community football Club in the sad circumstances we all find ourselves.

We will keep all our supporters informed of developments as they arise, particularly with respect to Tuesday’s scheduled home league game against Baldock Town.

The ‘Soul Night’ will now take place on Saturday 26 November and tickets bought in advance for tomorrow night, will of course be valid. Anyone who wishes to receive a refund should contact John Turner or the Club.

Our warmest wishes to everyone connected with our Club at this very sad time.

The Executive Committee at Leighton Town FC.

This would have been an interesting game wouldn't it with Dunstable Town looking for sweet revenge for their FA Cup First Qualifying Round defeat to Shefford Town & Campton last week:

The same thing could, and perhaps should, have happened at football today, why did other sports go ahead:

Yes.

Because their fans can be trusted!

There are a number of things to take into account:

1) the police are busy at the moment, football needs police control other sports don't

2) national mourning means silence and the singing of the the "new" national anthem. one club couldn't manage silence on Thursday evening and another club, due at home, have been known not to appreciate the national anthem. I appreciate I am talking about Premier League teams, but easier to have a blanket ban

3) If teams in Europe do not "toe the line" midweek then expect next weekends fixtures to be postponed

4) Her Majesty was the patron on the FA for years and  the Prince of Wales is now the patron, so it is right that national game shows its respect by having a weekend off
