I've had a quick look but cannot see why Worthing are called The Rebels.

Hi RR.

According to Wikipedia they get their "Rebels" nickname from a similar way that we did.

It says Worthing resigned from the West Sussex League on a point of principle over a rule change, prior to becoming a founder member of the Sussex County League in 1920.

I used to josh Morty Hollis, their grand panjandrum, about which team was the real "Rebels" but they appear to be calling themselves "The Mackerel Men" these days.

I have another commitment on 17th September so unfortunately won't be at Arbour Park for what should be an excellent FA Cup tie.

I didn't deliberately open a new topic for the FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round but I notice that it disappeared yesterday rather than the content being merged with the topic opened by RR.

GarySTFC did say on 30th August when you opened a second Bath City thread that merging was no longer possible apparently deletion is!
