Dover A 10th Sept Match Thread

I believe Jon and Neil have summed it up on social media.

Slough where very good in the first 30 mins being very brave in possession and causing a lot of issues for Dover.   The final ball was there a number of times into the box but anticipation or being in the right place was the missing piece for that shot on goal.

Dover grew into the game as the game went on and unfortunately an error assisted in their first goal, this gave them belief and their current positive form could then be witnessed in their game.

We should have at least had one penalty awarded probably the handball by Martins or the two handed pull back on Roberts..

Referring has been mentioned a lot this season but I actually think this ref was the worst this season!

Dover mainly play hoof ball until they found themselves in a comfortable position in the game and started to play on the ground.

Ref the pen to Dover, it was the correct decision unfortunately Rhys got to the ball second.

The Slough team worked hard but sadly no reward.

When you say the final ball was there a number of times into the box are we talking about creative defence splitting balls/balls into a player that present a goal scoring opportunity or just a ball into the box that a player wasn't on the end of?

On the penalty given away by Rhys, I've looked at it numerous times and I still think Rhys got a hand to the ball first before the player topples over him.

There are several comments on the Dover site by regular contributors saying Rhys was conned into it by a cunning old pro and another saying that both he and the ref were mugged  We were summed up by another as playing some excellent watchable football with absolutely no cutting edge  Probably fair comment?

Certainly was a fairly description against Hemel.

There was a good number who did travel but not many who use the forum.

As Footyfan says it was summed up in Jon’s interview so why should anyone need to add to it. What I would say is that Dover have a cracking ground but you can see why their crowds are low.

They charge a high price to get in , then extra to sit in main stand and still follow NL rules so there was no drinking on the terraces.
Plus don’t get me started on their ball boys and stewards

When there are multiple reports of a game there are often differences in how various people saw various incidents IMO the more reports the better to get a balanced view of a game One persons report on a game is not sufficient imo.

As we all know supporters see things differently and as Adrian has said the more views that are given should in theory provide a more balanced view.

I would expect people to be in the end of them imo.
