How about starting a new one on opinions on midfield players who have never played for the Rebels?

I make you right grandad.

I think it started with a tenuous connection of Romeo Beckham playing for Brentford B who of course Edon Pruti now plays for.

The narrow minded view of a Liverpool fan?!?!

Scholes and Lampard were far better players than that choker.

No not a Liverpool fan, just appreciating a sublime player that hardly had a weakness in his game.

Is that the same Scholes that had to retire from international duty because he couldn't get in his preferred position because it was occupied by Gerrard?! As for Lampard, fantastic goalscoring record but you can't deny he was surrounded by great players consistently.

I’ll listen to this lot thanks:

Overhyped? 19 winners medals would say differently and he was as good as his CV suggests, you don’t spend 11 seasons at Man Utd (under SAF), 4 seasons at Real Madrid and then time at PSG and AC Milan if you are not very good I’m afraid. One of the best players England has ever produced.

Steven Gerrard, now that’s an overhyped player and now Manager!

Steven Gerrard was a sheer class. I liked Paul Scholes and Frank Lampard, too [by the way I preferred his Dad]. David Beckham was ok and warranted being in the England squad at the time but he wouldn't have been in my first eleven. By the way I'm a Spurs fan,so I'm not biased. To me he became a better player with the experience he gained in the big teams he played for and peaked under Sven Goran Eriksen for England but I still don't regard him as a brilliant player. Edon Pruti on the other hand....... ha ha ha!

A chance to see Edon Pruti playing in the same team as Romeo Beckham

Friday 13th January 2023 : kick-off 7 pm at the Laithwaite Community Stadium, Woking FC :-

Premier League Cup Brentford B v Aston Villa B

"The Premier League Cup has been in place since it was introduced in 2013/14 to enhance the competitiveness of the Professional Development Phase calendar with knockout football alongside the regular league campaign.

The competition is in the UEFA Champions League style with 32 clubs in the main group stage from Premier League 2 as well as the Professional Development League.

Like Premier League 2, it will be contested between Under-21 teams, with each side allowed five over-age outfield players and one over-age goalkeeper."

Press release on 6th January 2023

"I’ve never been so excited", said Romeo Beckham, son of Manchester United legend David Beckham, after completing his loan move to Brentford B after "delighting" Premier League club.

No details about a fee being involved?

Just seen that the terms of the deal are undisclosed.

Weren't we supposed to benefit if Edon did well and progressed?

If a fee was paid it’ll be nominal of which the club will we next to nothing. He was only at the Bees for a short time so he’s fine well to secure a L2 transfer.

Hartlepool 23rd in div 2

So that will be next to no money if any coming our way.

Should have had money at the time he left as the jam tomorrow deal now means the bread is bare.

Another commercial disaster.

Get over it already! It’s in the past and had we refused the deal we may have had an unhappy player not performing to his best. So the club did the right in thing on this occasion in letting a young player fulfill his dream. 1 or 2 decent seasons in L2 and he could be playing Championship football! I wish him well personally.

You seem happy with the commercial disasters of this season, no money at all for Edon, a massive drop in season tickets, the loss of a shirt sponsor (although a lower income replacement was eventually found), still struggling to get general sponsors even though we sit right next to the largest trading estate in Europe (makes the song a little ironic), and still no new backer/owner after a number of false starts.

And with Scott having to work with a shoe string budget and having to call in favours just to get a team together, it is little surprise that we sit in 21st place if you use points per game and goal difference.

It is as if someone on the board would want us to go down to a lower level!

I am not happy about this, as why did we fight so hard for two promotions, for it all to just be forfeited when things get a bit tough.

Looks like Neil and Jon knew they were fighting a losing battle with what they were being offered and looking at things now, who could blame them.

Glen I am sure you are not happy with how things are, considering how long you have followed the club, and you are right in that we cannot change the deal that was done for Edon, but I am sure you do not want to see the club go backwards.

There needs to be far better commercial awareness, and since Steve Easterbrook left it has been sadly lacking.

Wow talk about over exaggerating! So it’s the clubs fault for the short sponsor collapse? What club at this level would turn down thousands just in case the company goes bust?

You do realise the club doesn’t employ an experienced professional commercial person to sell the club to businesses? The current 4 team board have plenty to do running the club so to expect them to have the time and expertise to go and sell just wouldn’t happen.

No fan would be happy with our current position but let’s look at the positives. After a dreadful winless run we’re now 3 unbeaten. We’ve recently signed some decent higher level players (that shoe string budget must have some pretty decent elasticity!), with have a new young manager who is moulding the team nicely.
