Slough Town v Tonbridge Angels

Recommended Posts

I know it's still several days away, but looking at the weather forecast for Saturday it is at the moment  scheduled to be about 34 degrees at kick off time..

Our pre season friendly against Aldershot was given an earlier kick off time because of the predicted temperatures.

It seems to be forecast to be very hot for most of Saturday.

In the health and safety culture that we have now, is there any chance this game may not take place at 3pm Saturday ?

One downside with moving the ko to an earlier time is that some supporters can't always make an early start.

I did read (I think the NLP?) that some leagues have told clubs they’re allowed to adjust KO times although that was more to do with energy cost saving. Although it would help the players if we say moved the KO to 11am this Saturday I think it would certainly see a big drop in attendance.

Firstly, if the game is to be moved to an earlier time, then the sooner it is announced the better, to allow the message to get out there, and people to change their plans to suit – however there is uncertainty about how hot it will be with the Met office showing a max of 31 deg C and the BBC (data supplied by MetroGroup) showing max of 35 deg C.

Secondly, the home shirt showing in the club shop is quoted as - "Slough Town Adult Home shirt (2020/21 & 2021/22)" which does imply that a new one may be around for this season, although normally this change would have been already announced.

Kick off will not be changed, as far as I am aware the National League are not very accommodating with regards to this.

Either way will be a hot one.

Too much information I know but I think Saturday I'll wear my kilt and come out commando, or get my mankini out ! ?

Can I make a request that Shredding records a video of himself doing a rain dance playing the Vuvuzela ?

I will be at the match Sir Rebel1965.

But no vuvuzela or Court Jester's hat.

Perhaps Warren and his band will be there. If so, have a word with them and I am sure that they would oblige. I have experienced them preparing a new composition during a match.

So SG, as you won’t help with providing any rain, how about a prediction for the outcome of the game?

The forecast for Saturday afternoon is:

32 deg C

Pressure 1018 mpa

Chance of precipitation <5%

Wind 6 mph gusting to 16 mph from an easterly direction

Excellent visibility >40km

26% humidity

UV level 4

Sunrise 05:44 Sunset 20:30

Amber weather warning for heat.

With all this information I would expect you to be able to predict the end of game score, the goal scorers, who will give the assists, and maybe with the help of your friend who went to Cambridge, the time of each goal.

Should be a walk in the park for a man of your abilities SG.
