SHOOT FOR A MEAL / HALF TIME AT BRAINTREE TOWN F.C AND REPRESENT St.Albans F.c

Good evening St.Albans fans, my name is Mark.A.Bundock, Secretary of BTFC Supporters Club, AKA Mark-Sweden flag on BTFC website. (As I go to away games with a Sweden flag)

On Saturday 14th Feb 04 – VALENTINES DAY (I know it’s a fortnight away, but these things take time to organize.)

We at the Supporters Club are doing a Shoot for a meal, what happens is a BRAINTREE TN Supporter will be up against a ST ALBANS Supporter. (it is free)

The Shoot for a meal event will be done on the pitch at Half Time in front of the fans.

We did this V 6 OTHER RYMAN LEAGUE CLUBS and both HOME AND AWAY supporters got behind their representative and it was great fun.

Results so far

BTFC Sam Bass BEAT Mark Hanking of Hornchurch 3.1 (ADULTS)

BTFC Richard Jackson LOST to Ben Christmas of Hitchin 0.1 (ADULTS)

BTFC Mark Reilly BEAT James Girling of Bognor 2.1 (ADULTS)

BTFC Martin Lomax LOST to Heybridge’s Gary Perkins 0.3 (ADULTS)

BTFC Sam Griffiths LOST to Canvey Island’s Andy O’Brien 0.2 (CHILDREN)

BTFC Kelvin Byrne BEAT Maidenhead’s Matthew Hussey 1.0 (CHILDREN)

(So of the six events Braintree have won 3 and lost 3)

WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET A VOLUNTEER EVERYTIME AND HOPE ST.ALBANS WILL CONTINUE THIS. (I APPRECIATE SOME OF YOUR BOYS ARE SPONSORING THE GAME, BUT IF SOMEONE CAN PULL THEMSELVES AWAY FROM THE DRINK FOR 5 MINS, YOU CAN ALL PISS YOURSELVES LAUGHING AT ONE OF YOUR MATES)

The last two home games, we have had children participating and wish to return to adults on the pitch V ST.ALBANS.

You will get 3 goes, this will be done alternatively. Dribble round 3 cones and shoot past a keeper. The winner is the one who scores the most goals, in the quickest time. The prize is a meal for two, a Sunday Carvery at Mr H, which was Formerly, The Four Seasons. (This voucher is valid for up to 6 months.)

WHAT WE WOULD REQUIRE from any volunteer.

1. They represent their Club in a ST.ALBANS replica shirt.

2. They wear a pair of trainers, no football boots please, as the grounds man would not permit this.

If you are interested, we need to know as soon as possible, the latest being SUNDAY 8TH FEB 2004 as we will be sending a supporters club column to the Match Prog. Editor and we will mention both of the Supporters names and ages plus we also need to let the P.A person know for their commentary.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ENTER PLEASE TELEPHONE: 07739847552.

We look forward to hearing from you and hope you will come to Cressing Road on Feb 14th 2004.

For more information please read the BTFC (Unofficial) message board www.braintreetfc.co.uk/

We will also be making a members draw, which unfortunately is only for BTFC members.

Plus our Match day Mascot Braintree Town Supporters Club is running this and this will all add to the afternoons entertainment off the pitch.

Thank you, Mark.

I'm sure we'll find somebody Mark, however I doubt wether any of the boys sponsoring the game will as 5 minutes is a long time to tear yourself away from a free bar <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Would happily do it, but only if I can take my pint onto the pitch with me.

Anyway, where is this meal on a Sunday? I'm going going all the way back to Essex for some free grub.

And I'm not wearing a City shirt either. We're going suited and booted, so I'll wear a City tie.

And black shoes.

And if it's muddy, they can put down some carpets tiles in the goalmouth for me.

Ok you can wear your City tie, if you want to bring the red carpet yes. The pint, if you can square it with the groundsman and Lee, but to be honest you will get better odds on us meeting in the Conference South next season.
Well done Zealster, I will put you in the Supporters Column. Thanks.

Zealster, if you bring the red carpet down, you will have the Qwag end boys pissing themselves. As Spurs are out the Cup, I am hoping we will have our Vocal support back, a few of our boys have season tickets to both Braintree and Spurs and were talking about going 2 Manchester. As I dont follow Tottenham I dont know if they have a league game, if so lets hope up North.

Lee mentioned on our site, that if anyone wants to watch the new TV he will open up early, thread about "Saturday Week" on the Iron forum. He also asked if anyone was interested in the other 2 ties.
