The plan is to Ground share with Tilbury next season. A meeting will take place soon to make the final arrangments.

Yes we will be playing all our home games at Tilbury next season, we have enjoyed our stay at Burnham, but when the offer came along it was too good to turn down.

One of the most depressing grounds in Essex it is even second to Purfleet. Hell it is the most depressing ground in Essex.

 

One of my friends used to play for St Albans and he told me the story of a game at Tilbury where he went to take a corner and a lump of coal was thrown at him and hit him on the back of his head.

 

I have never gone there in good weather so it might be better in the sunshine.

No fear of that happening any more, the surrounding houses have central heating now. i'm curious as to who threw the lump of coal, was it a miner or minor.

Coal!!!!... reminds me of the time many moons ago in my groundhopping days when I won a ton of the stuff in the half-time raffle at Merthyr Tydfil.. guess what, I did the charitable deed of returning it to the club .... anyone else won anything odd in a half-time raffle ?

One summer Saturday, years ago, I saw Canvey Island FC playing Corinthians Res on pitch No 2 at Fawkham whilst on the main pitch their First X1 were playing an Arsenal Junior X1 - including a very young Andy Cole !
