'All we want is a decent cup of tea...'

Many Slough Town fans share the belief that the club¹s rent to share Stag Meadow (£25,000) has funded signings like Scott and Jason Cousins but Mr Simpson insisted that was not the case.

"We owed it to both sides to have a decent pitch and so invested in getting a groundsman and renovating the stadium to make it an OEA¹ grading," he said.

"We spent £8,000 on the pitch alone (and paying rent to Flackwell Heath for reserve games). Any money for transfers has had to be raised separately . None of the Slough money has gone into the playing fund.

"However next season we will not be needing improvement work on the ground and if the same deal exists then it could go to strengthening the squad."

So what about the money!

It is a lot, i know, but at least they have let us rent the ground, they could have turned around and said no, then where would we be?

Let them spend the Money on what they want and good luck to them. The pitch is looking a lot better than recent years and the ground is always tidy and clean.

Remember, the likes of Cousins, Scott and Carroll were not just tempted by Money, Mr Greene was a Wycombe player and played with these guys. They probably dont need to play anymore but are because they enjoy it, not for the money!

I must admit that the Bovrils are nice, and im sure Glen will agree......

All these posts over a bleedin cup of tea - which i only posted for a laugh!

But

Surely spending money on improving the quality of the pitch helps the team to play better footie? Does the ground improvements means they can get promoted to the Ryman Premier this season? If Sloughs money has gone on ground improvements, then surely that has freed up the chairmans money to pay for decent players?

Maybe we should just let Windsor fans gloat that for once in a very blue moon they are a better side than us....

I'm grateful they have let Slough play their this season, but also aware that the £25,000 has helped them get to the top of the league - maybe they could buy a few more teabags with the money as well.

If you read the windsor observer.....

I would have thought that the tag of Brighton Rebel would have made the answer to that one fairly obvious, even for a Windsor fan <img src="/images/graemlins/achso.gif" alt="" />
