What are you talking about?

If I walk into the ground with a £100,000 cheque on the first day of the season, Mike Lightfoot says thanks very much and the club has £100,000 more than it did the day before.

Yes, I agree with that. Donations are always acceptable as is sponsorship!

Sorry that I mistook the original post as suggesting someone who had a controlling interest in the club which is not applicable to Slough Town FC.

SG, how is wanting someone to pump money in ignorance? What you have stated makes no sense at all and would not stop someone with money coming in. Baffled!

Someone with money could donate it but "coming in" suggests a degree of share ownership which is not applicable to a company limited by guarantee.

I know the amount equates to the claimed net assets not looking for that

Shredding Green  The most recently presented accounts to 31/7/21 do show an item in excess of £32000 designated as Shareholders Funds Could you explain what these are? Thank You

The accountants who prepared the accounts have made a technical error there. They obviously used a template and didn't fully alter it to the wording applicable to a company limited by guarantee. The accounts should read "Funds employed" not "Shareholders Funds" as there are no shareholders.

It’s a delicate situation but I can see both sides and being a fan yes it’s frustrating to hear no news on players yet especially when you read of many other clubs announcing signings. But after losing a player like Freddie the last thing we want is to lose another by giving away information that doesn’t need to be given. Ok we may still lose 1 or 2 but at least the club would have tried all they can to retain them. Unfortunately I’ve got a feeling that Aaron Kuhl is one of the few players yet to sign as I can imagine there are a few interested clubs. On the other hand I agree if the club wants to sell season tickets there has to be some positivity surrounding it. Let’s hope  in the next 10 days we see that.

As much as I rate Aaron Kuhl, and wouldn't want him to leave, I don't see his position as being one that can't be  filled by someone else.

He was among our best players last season,so it would be a blow if he departed but if he isn't happy with the amount he is paid at Slough and wants to chase bigger wages, let him go. Better to have players who want to be at our club.

"Coming in" to me suggests someone who has a degree of ownership which is not applicable in the case of Ochard Comminuity Sports Ltd T/A Slough Town FC.

Nothing to stop someone making a large donation or agreeing a lucrative sponsorship deal.

Questions could be raised at the next Open Forum ... whenever that might be.

Who is going to want to sponsor/donate money to our club for nothing in return? Obviously companies are willing to sponsor for advertising but attracting someone with 'pots of money' to put into a club for nothing in return, and not having any 'perks' for doing so, is highly unlkely !

There goes that 'flying pig' ! ?

Everyone needs to remember that Arbour Park is currently up for sale, well it’s on SBCs Sellable Assets List, so if someone buys the ground, we better hope they are interested in the club as well or it’s back to Beaconsfield or Windsor.

If someone does come in, they will need to buy Arbour Park or build a new Ground, I see can see the land having houses on it otherwise

The Slough Town Supporters Trust is always pleased to receive donations.

Thanks for that Shredding Green   It couldn't be true that a company with no shareholders had a chunk of cash allocated to Shareholders!

Although not impossible, to get another player of Aaron's quality for the sort of money he's on will be a tough ask.

Of course it may not be all about the money, he could just be ambitious enough to want to try his luck at the next level.

I’d be very interested to see the evidence of this too. If it’s true then what’s to stop any developer offering a reduced sum to buy the stadium site, knocking it down and building whatever they please? Or is there some type of covenant in place that says in effect that football has to be played here?

A company called Avison Young has been asked to  identify targets to be sold and have until 30th June to do so

At present the intention is to sell properties outside the council area for example a supermarket  a Wickes store and the Basingstoke Odeon !
