Southern League Premier South Play-Offs Final : Hayes & Yeading United v Farnborough

Recommended Posts

As there is a fair bit of interest in this match amongst Rebels supporters, I did not consider it inappropriate to open a Topic on this forum.

Not only that, but the crowd for the corresponding league fixture on 16th November was 392, only bettered in the league this season at The SKYex by 556 against Chesham United on 18th April. 607 at the play-offs semi-final against Weston Super Mare on 26th April and now the final against Farnborough a 1,600 sell out in three hours.

Just a hint there of what Rebels might need to achieve to fill Arbour Park!

From the Hayes & Yeading United FC website :-

"Play-Offs Final to be streamed live

With many fans of both sides left disappointed without tickets for Monday’s play-offs final we are pleased to announce that in partnership with FCVideo the match will be broadcast on a free livestream via the club’s YouTube channel for those unable to attend.

More details to follow."

That probably means how much!

Happy viewing!!!

Anyone been watching the live stream of this match?

Currently I'm multi-tasking by watching this on YouTube, watching the snooker with the sound turned turn off on the BBC, and reading Twitter every now and again for the Slough match !

It's half time and most importantly Slough are winning 0-1, a Sean Fraser cross for Ben Harris to score. Judd Trump has closed the gap to 3 frames but Ronnie O'Sullivan still leads 13 - 10. In the Hayes v Farnborough play off match, Hayes have dominated the half and took an early lead. Hayes have had most of the chances and the best play but without scoring more. Biggest threat so far for Farnborough has been the lively little livewire Reggie Young, and it was ironic that he popped up with the equalizer just before half time. Hayes will kick themselves if they lose this match as they should be leading this game given the amount of play they've had.

Farnborough look like they have the better bench for substitutes,so I'm expecting them to get at Hayes in the second half.

Going by Twitter, Slough appear to have been the better team but whether this is the case, I don't know.

Francis Amartey has blotted his copybook and been send off/red carded not long after half time. Can't tell you how,as I was reading the Slough Twitter [ Ben Harris down injured and is being subbed in exchange for Alfonso Tenconi] and watching 'The Natural World' about the giant armadillo ! ha ha.

Farnborough have just brought on Paul Hodges on for CJ Fearn.

The Giant Armadillo has just had a baby ! ha ha ha !

Farnborough have just scored to make it 1-2, a good goal by Sam Deering with only 4 minutes left of the 90 minutes.

Hampton and Richmond have just added a third in the 2nd minute of added time.

The Giant Armadillo and her family have gone on their holiday !

Farnborough have won the game. Jack Turner pulled off a great save in the second half. There has been a pitch invasion by the Farnborough fans and it has kicked off between them and the Hayes fans. Some young twats from Farnborough have instigated it by gesturing to the Hayes fans and now fights have started. What a sad end to this game.

Just watched the H&Y vs Farnborough game too 3spirit. Must say I feel a bit sorry for H&Y. I thought they were the better footballing side and was expecting much more from Farnborough and their 'superstars'. What did you think of the Armartey sending off? I thought it was rather stupid from him but a bit harsh to get his marching orders. You can't legislate for idiotic fans but I thought the Farnborough supporters let themselves down at the end of the game.

It was on the touchline further down the pitch from where I was seated but I understand it was deemed by the referee to be a deliberate elbow into Jack Ball's neck.

Looks like the 'reformed character' Francis Amartey has let the club down getting sent off in the 50th minute with the score at 1-1.

More importantly than any football, what happened to the Armadillo and can she play up front???

Watched it back this evening and looked like a flailing arm from Amartey and can 100% why the ref sent him off.

Love to see him back pace and power

Do you mean back at Slough Ian? He isn't good enough for us.

I missed the Francis Amartey incident. Will have to watch when get the chance. Real shame for Hayes on the day, though,as first half with Francis Amartey on, they run Farnborough ragged. What I saw of the second half, with Amartey off the field, Farnborough started to get the upper hand but Hayes still had the odd chance and will count themselves very unlucky to lose, given the amount of goalscoring chances they had. Farnborough improved in the second half but were fortunate to only have ten in Hayes colours to deal with.

Disgraceful scenes at the end of the match, with loads of Farnborough fans running on to the pitch, and a small minority of Farnborough idiots, gesturing to the pigsick defeated Hayes fans leading to a lots of skirmishes. Reading the Farnborough fans forum in the morning I had read that their club had a young element of troublemakers, and that appears to be the case. Being that it will be a bit of a derby/rival match against Farnborough next season, I hope they have wheedled out this hooligan element before we play them,as Slough could face the same bother.

It will be interesting to see who Slough and Farnborough recruit in the summer. On paper Farnborough look like they have an in depth squad but going by yesterday's match I didn't see much from them to think they will be a force next season in the Conference South.

I don't see any Slough forward as good as Amartey plus he's good to watch We probably couldn't afford him He caused all sorts of problems yesterday He got sent off well like all football the Farnborough player milked it

I agree with you about Francis Amartey,Ian GF, however I think that boat has sailed, as I can't see our managers wanting him back. It's probably best that we now look elsewhere for strikers, as long as we can get them !

Obviously depends on who they recruit.

No doubt Spencer Day will dig deep to get the right players in.

It's not always about ability.

I'm sure there were other reasons why he left other than his ability.

As we have said a few times, we got some money for him and a potential sell on, however he was just not the right fit for us, very talented boy, pace and power and would certainly get into our team if it was only based on his overall performance.
Would not be surprised to see a league side take a chance on him in the summer.
